Crossing Paths
Chapter 14
Lily`s POV:
I sat next to my mother knowing that she only had a few days left. I couldn`t imagine her being gone she was right in front of me, I saw her chest going up and down. There was nothing I felt in this moment, it was like I couldn`t think anymore like the time stood still.
All that counted was her breathing it was all I noticed. I was alone with her since the others went to the cafeteria and that was how it was. I was alone. My mother would leave me than I would be alone. There was no more power inside of me to see this. So I just laid down next to my mum and wrapped my arms around her, I listend to her heartbeat until I fall asleep.
(next morning)
Someone stroke over my hair that was why I woke up. I glanced in my fathers face and saw Juliet right next to him. "Good morning Liliane. You should better stand up. My wife Kristen has brought something to eat for you and some of juliet`s clothes if you want to change it."
I looked in his eyes. "Thank you really much but I am actually not hungry." Juliet disagreed. "You need to eat something Liliane. You can come back to your mum later." She smiled at me caring.
"Yeah I guess you are right." I followed Juliet. Simon stayed by my mom, he had to promise to not let her be alone because I didn`t wanted her to feel lonely. I knew she wouldn`t wake up again but I was sure she could feel us.
Kristen waited at the cafeteria for us. She had brought my favourite food, pancakes and also some sandwishes. "Thank you so much Mrs. Wyler." I liked her the moment I saw her. "You`re welcome and please call me Kristen." I had to smile. She was just great a really kind person.
After I ate a sandwish and two pancakes I was totally full. So I took the clothes Juliet had given to me and changed. When I saw myself at a mirrow I was shocked, I looked awfull.
When I was back Juliet asked me if I wanted to take a walk with her and I was really gratefull because I really needed some fresh air.
I didn`t know how to get through all of this but what I knew was that I wasn`t alone anymore. That was the best feeling I ever had.
