Juliets` POV:

“Why did I agreed again?”, I asked sighing.

“You said you`ll be friendly”, Zayn reminded me and I groaned a little bit. He had called me earlier this morning, asking if I would be okay with a meeting with Liliane.

He nearly pleased me to get to know her better and he pulled his best friend joker to convince me. I finally agreed, but only under the condition that Harry would join us.

The official reason was that 3 was a horrible number of people being together, but the real one was that I wanted him to be around me.

So we ended up sitting in Zayns` car on our way to the coffee shop. I felt like I had a knot in my throat the closer we came to the entry. Was I ready for this meeting?

I wanted to do it for Zayn since he really seemed to like her. Was I okay with that? Not really, but I love him and I don`t want to hurt him.

I took a last and deep breath before I went in. She already waited for us and smiled a little bit as she saw us coming.

“Remember you wanted to be nice”, Zayn whispered.

“I`ll try my best”, I replied. We sat down and I felt so uncomfortable with the situation since nobody knew what to say.

“How long have you been here?”, I asked her.

“Just a few minutes, not long”, she answered and I realized that she actually had a nice voice.

But after her answer there was another long awkward pause, before Harry finally said: “So how was your old school? Don`t you miss your friends?”

She answered, but I could see that she wasn`t telling the whole truth.

“Oh it was okay, not really special. When I want to I can still meet my old friends but we kind of drifted apart.” I couldn`t hold that question back any more. I just wanted to know the one thing that was going through my mind since I had found out who she is.

“How is your Mum, I mean I know it must have been hard for you.” I felt guilty to ask her something so personal after acting like a bitch around her the last times and I expected her not to answer.

“It was, but my mum is so great. I love her more then anyone else. She is the most caring person I know, I have no idea what I would do without her.” I looked at her surprised since she even submitted that it was hard for her first.

Probably it was the fact that she really wasn`t as bad as I thought or the fact that I felt sorry for her since she never had Dad in her life, I told her about Zayns` coming up with my nickname and she laughed about it. Zayn added how we get to know each other so many years ago and I had to smile about it.

“Never knew that story either”, Harry said and laughed about the imagination of the little Juliet and Zayn as well.

“She really isn`t that horibble, is she?”, Harry whispered in my ear. I looked at him and slowly shook my head. He smiled at me and I grinned back at him.

I looked up as suddenly Lilys` mobile rang. She picked it up and listened to the other person on the phone. Her smile faded and her face turned pale.

“Hey whats wrong?”, Zayn asked worried, but she just shook her head and continued to listen to the person speaking. Zayn looked over to me, but all I could do was raise my shoulders as well.

After she finally hung up, she said: “I need to go to the hospital.” I didn`t asked why because she looked like she would have a mental breakdown in front of us any second.

“We come with you”, I offered since I felt like she needed someone to make sure she got there safely. Harry paid our drinks, while we were already walking towards Harrys` car.

He took her hand and I didn`t said something since she clearly looked really weak and shaky right now. She starred over to me and I gave her a an encouragingly smile.

I sat down on the passenger seat while Zayn and Liliane hopped in the back. I kept my eyes on the street ahead of us, but I could see them in the mirror. I couldn`t believed it when I saw her crying. Something was not right here. Not at all.

Liliane seemed to know exactly where to go as soon as we arrived at the hospital. We followed her, but I were challenged to maintain her tempo. First I nearly ran him over.

“Dad?”, I asked surprised as I noticed his face to my side. It was really him, but his face was worried and he had been in a deep talk with a doctor.

“Julie”, he said surprised. Harry stopped next to me, while Zayn hurried after Liliane.

“Why are you here?”, Dad asked me.

“We were with Liliane at the coffee shop, but then she got this call and she said she need to come here”, I explained out of breath. He frowned and I could tell he wasn`t saying what he seemed to know.

“Dad, what`s wrong?” I felt like I had a knot in my stomach.

“Lilianes` Mum is sick, Julie”, he answered and I felt even more confused.

“Sick? What happened to her?”, I asked. He looked at me with pity eyes.

“She is sick for a longer time now”, he said and I knew it. But I needed him to say it.

“She has cancer, Julie. The doctors said they can`t do anything for her any more.” I closed my eyes. Oh my god. He can`t be right.

“That can`t be true...”, I whispered. Strong arms started to hug me and I smelled Harrys` aftershave.

“That is not even fair...”, I said before I started to cry and before I pressed my face into his warm jacket.

I had acted like a bitch. I had Dad in my life. Lilianes` Mum was dying.



Not fair at all.
