Happy Birthday!
Alia’s P.O.V
“Happy Birthday Lia!” My parents said walking into my room waking me up. I sat up and smiled at them.
“Here open this.” My dad said smiling. I took the box he had and opened it. When I saw what was inside I screamed and my parents began to laugh.
“Thank you thank you thank you!!” I said hugging them.
“You’re welcome honey. Leanna called and said she would be here soon to take you to school so get ready.” Mom said as they left my room. I got out of bed and ran to my closet to decide what to wear. I took a shower then got dressed. When I walked out of my bathroom I found Leanna sitting on my bed.
“Hey Anna!” I said sitting next to her.
“Hey birthday girl!” She said hugging me.
“You’ll never guess what my parents got me!!” I said hardly containing my excitement.
“You can tell me on the way to school. Right now put this on.” She said handing me a birthday girl tiara. I put it on and then we went to her car. Mom and dad already left so I had to make sure that the front door was locked. As Leanna was putting the top down on her convertible she asked me what I got.
“I got 2 One Direction tickets for tonight!!!” I shouted. She looked at me to make sure I was serious and then we both screamed together.
“After school shopping for an outfit then back to your house and changing and getting ready.” She said as we turned into a parking spot in the school parking lot. We have almost every class together so my day wasn’t that bad. At the end of the day we basically ran to her car and got in.
“Ok where to first?” Leanna asked me.
“I don’t care just hurry women we have 2 hours to shop and 3 to get ready.” I told her as she began to drive. It took us the full 2 hours to find something to wear. When we got back to my house I turned on my One Direction playlist.
“Lia can you do my hair for me please?” Leanna asked as I pulled my shirt down.
“Yea give me a second.” I yelled from my bathroom. I plugged in my flat iron and curling iron and walked back into my room to find her fully dressed and staring at her phone.
“Whatcha looking at Leanna?” I asked laying on my stomach next to her and pulling out my phone.
“Your husband tweeted.” She said bumping my shoulder. I knew she was talking about Harry. I looked down at my phone and saw I got a text from Charlie.
Char: Hey babe Happy birthday! Sorry I wasn’t at school today, Sasha was sick L
LeLe: It’s ok L Talk to you later. Getting ready for concert with Anna. Love ya
Char: Love ya too!
I threw my phone back on my bed and led Anna to my bathroom where I had a chair for her to sit in so I could do her hair.
“Where was lover boy today?” she asked with disgust. She and Charlie don’t get along at all.
“Sasha was sick.” I said. She rolled her eyes.
“I don’t believe that.” She said as I straightened a part of her hair. I shrugged my shoulders. I finished straightening it.
“So now that’s its straight how do you want it?” I asked her.
“I don’t care as long as most of its out of my face.” Leanna said. I nodded my head then finished her hair and then curled mine. I put my makeup on and we were ready to go.
“Want to take my car or yours?” I asked her.
“It’s your birthday we are taking my car.” Anna said as we walked to her car. We drove to the venue and got out.
“Do I look ok?” I asked. She nodded my head and asked me the same.
“Duhh.” I said making her laugh. We showed the ticket guy our tickets and went and found our seats in the front row.
“Eppp I’m so excited.” I told her. She laughed and agreed with me.
“I know I still find it weird how you and Liam have the same birthday and look somewhat alike.” Leanna said seriously.
“Do you know how many people share a birthday? And we don’t look that much alike.” I told her.
“Whatever.” She said rolling her eyes playfully. Before I got a chance to respond the music for “Over Again” came on. We looked at each other then began to fangirl like the rest. We danced and laughed like crazy until it came to the twitter questions.
“Hey guys!! Before we start with the questions I would like to say happy birthday to my mate Liam here.” Zayn said patting his back.
“Thank you Zayn now lets get going with these twitter questions from the fans.” Liam said turning and looking at the screen behind him. I looked down at my phone because I got a text from my mom.
Mom: Dad and I have to talk to you when you get home.
That’s strange I haven’t done anything bad lately. Oh well guess I’ll find out later.
“This next question is from @Heartbrk_. Can you please sing happy birthday to my best friend Alia please?” Harry read. I looked over at Anna and she had the most innocent look on her face.
“Well Alia where are you?” Louis asked. I didn’t want to hold my hand up or say anything but Anna did that for me. When they spotted me the all walked over to the area where I was sitting and sat with their legs dangling off the side. After they sang happy birthday Louis asked how old I was.
“I’m 18 now.” I replied.
“So you’re exactly the same age as Liam. Well happy birthday.” Zayn said before they went and answered more questions. When the questions were over and they sang the other songs the concert was over. Leanna drove me back home. When I walked into my house I went to my room and showered and put my pajamas on. When I came out I started to text Charlie until there was a knock on my door. I went and opened it to find my parents they walked in and sat at the end of my bed while I stood looking at them.
Alia we have something to tell you. You might want to sit down for this." My mom said. I sat on my bed and braced myself for what was about to be said.
"We got a call from the hospital where you were born and..." Mom began before she started to cry.
“You were switched at birth.” Dad said looking down.
“What do you mean I was switched? With who?” I asked standing back up.
“You know you were born in the Uk and then we moved when you were 2. Anyways you were switched with the Payne family.” Dad said standing up and hugging me. I couldn’t believe this.
“Mom and dad can you please leave. I’m tired.” I said looking down. I heard my door close before I literally threw myself on my bed and cried. How could the people I thought were my parents not really be my parents? I know what would make me feel better. I call Charlie and it goes straight to voicemail. That’s weird he always answers. I decide to text Leanna.
AL: Having a mental break down. Want to see if rents will let us skip tomorrow?
LA: yea I’m here for you babe. Night!
AL: K night.
Before I put my phone down I tweeted.

It’s after the concert and the lads and I are in our hotel room.
“That Alia chick kind of looked like you Li.” Lou said as he there popcorn up and tried to catch it in his mouth. He failed.
“She didn’t look that much like me.” I replied as my phone began to ring. I looked down and saw that it was my dad.
“Hey dad. What’s up?” I asked into the phone.
“Hey Liam. So your mum and I have something to tell you and your sisters so we are going to put you on speaker.” My dad said.
“Hey little bro.” I heard Ruth say.
“Hey guys! So dad what did you need to tell us?” I asked very curiously.
“Well you know you had a twin and she died one day after birth.” Mum said beginning to cry.
“Yea what about her?” I asked getting worried.
“Well the doctor made a mistake.” Dad said. What did he mean mistake? Could doctors do that? I wondered.
“What do you mean?” I heard Nicola ask.
“Well The baby that died wasn’t your twin it was another couple’s child.” Mum said still crying.
“So you mean my twin is alive somewhere in the world?” I asked with disbelief.
“Yes. She lives in the states. We have a day set for when we are meting her. We are flying to the states. California to be exact. All of us will be there.” Dad said. My twin is alive! That was all I could wrap my mind around.
“Ok that’s awesome. I’ll talk to Paul about it tomorrow! Love you guys! Bye!” I said hanging up my phone and staring at the wall in a daze.
“Hello earth to Liam.” Niall said waving his hand in front of my face. I snapped out of my daze and looked at him.
“The lads and I are going out to the club tonight. We were wondering if you wanted to come also.” Niall said.
“Nah man I’m gonna stay here tonight but you guys have fun.” I said climbing into bed. Niall turned off the lights as he left the room. I have a twin that is still alive! I scrolled through my twitter mentions and found out tweet that caught my eye.

I sat my phone down and laid down and fell asleep. The last thing that ran through my mind was the same thing that has been running through my mind since the phone call. My twin is alive and I’m going to meet her!
