Flashback: (Niall's POV)

The sun was glittering on the water as I swam with her out to the dock. The air was so fresh, summer had just begun.

"Your so slow!" She laughed. "Race you!"

I laughed and chased after her, pushing the water aside with my hands and catching up easily. I grabbed her leg and pulled it back, edging ahead of her.

"Cheater!" She laughed as I touched the dock first. I climbed on then helped her up. She was still pale as snow, even though we had gone swimming every day.

I felt my lungs beginning to tighten a bit.

She knew instantly what was wrong. "You asthma again, Ni?"

I nodded, closing my eyes and taking deep slow breaths. Whenever I exercised too much my asthma would act up.

"Just lie down and rest for a bit," she said, crossing her legs. I laid back, resting my head in her lap and closing my eyes.

She played with my hair, trying to make little braids all over my head, as I waited for my breathing to calm down.

It was so peaceful here. So perfect. I knew then that if we ever got married, we would have to live near this lake. We'd only found it this summer, when we'd been walking around.

"Remember when we found this place, Ni?" She whispered, seeming to read my mind. She always knew. It was mysterious, but I loved her for it. "You were chasing me with that bucket of water for half a mile and we were just running through the forest... and all of a sudden it just opened up in front of us."

I let out a happy sigh. "No ones ever found it since."

"Yep," she said, and I knew she was smiling. "It's our happy place. Our perfect place."

I nodded. It was perfect. Everything was perfect.


Niall's POV:

I hopped out of the limo, followed by Zayn and Perrie, shaking my head to rid it of yet another flashback. How simple life had seemed back then, back when no one had known who I was, when I could run off into the forest next to my house with my one true love, and never look back.

Never look back.

I'd never looked back in all my life. Every day I moved forward without regret.

Until now.


Zayn's POV:

I had no idea what was going on. I'd just gotten out of bed and here we were at an adoption center of all places.

"Perrie... what..."

"Sh," she said shortly.

"Perrie I'm not ready for kids... I mean we still have three years of world tours left, at least," I said, panicking.

"It's not our kid were looking for," she responded quietly, so Niall who was trudging along behind wouldn't overhear us.

"Then what-"

"I'll explain it to you later."

We walked into the adoption center. Niall looked close to tears as he approached the desk, for some reason.

"OH MY GOD YOUR NIALL HORAN!" Squealed the lady at the front desk. Obviously a fan. "AND ZAYN AND PERRIE OH MY GOD!"

Niall sighed. "I want to adopt a little girl I met yesterday."

"You... you what..." said the desk lady, obviously fangirling.

"I want to adopt a little girl," insisted Niall.

"What the hell..." I said.

"A girl named Espy Horan."

And then I got it.
