Abused

Rachel's P.O.V.

"Rachel?" he mumbled when he got to the bottom.

He was in just a pair of pyjama bottoms and his was all ruffled.

I didn't even say anything.

I just pulled him into a bone-crushing hug.

I felt tears form in my eyes as I breathed in his scent.

He didn't respond at first, but his arms slowly wrapped around me.

"I'm so sorry Niall" my voice broke as I spoke his name and that's when the tears overflowed and I began silently crying into his chest.

"Shh, c'mon it's okay Rach" he murmured, kissing the top of my head.

He began rubbing my back gently, comfortingly.

"I don't like when your mad at me" I mumbled.

"I'm not mad, im just confused.." he whispered.

I pulled back slightly to get a look at his face.

"I just feel like you don't trust me anymore, and I don't understand why.. Have- Have I done something?" he whispered, looking hurt.

I bit my lip, feeling sick to my stomach.

"Of course not Niall, you haven't done anything" I replied.

"Then why won't you just tell me what's going on? Whatever it is, we can work it out together" he told me, placing a hand on my cheek.

I tried to ignore the tingling this action sent through my body.

"There's nothing going on Niall" I whispered.

Well done, Rachel.

I didn't even convince myself.

"Rachel, please stop lying to me. What could possibly be so bad that you can't tell me?" he whispered, refusing to break eye contact.

What was I supposed to say?

I couldn't tell Niall about what was happening with Brad.

Nor could I tell him about my growing feelings for him.

"Woah- what's happening here?"

I turned to see Liam standing in the hall smirking.

When he saw my tear-stained face however, his expression changed.

"What's wrong?" he asked softly.

"Nothing, she's just a little over emotional.. Her time of month I guess. We're gonna go hang out in my room for a while" Niall told him, taking hold of my hand and quickly pulling me up the stairs, leaving Liam looking confused but amused.

As soon as we were in Nialls room, he turned to me.

"Listen Rach, I trust you with my life. You need to understand that I will always be here for you. No matter what. I'm always on you side. But I can't be there for you if you don't even tell me what's going on" he told me, sincerely.

I nodded.

"So what's going on?" he whispered.

I sighed, deciding to at least tell him a bit of the truth.

"Well Brad doesn't really like me hanging out with you.. He thinks we're too close.. I dunno, I guess he just gets jealous or something..." I mumbled.

Nialls eyes had widened at this point but I couldn't bring myself to stop.

"That's why I didn't come visit you on tour. He wouldn't...." I trailed off, unsure of how to finish.

"Let.You." He finished through gritted teeth.

I nodded.

"It's been causing some problems between us" I added.

That was the understatement of the century.

He stayed silent for a while, his expression blank.

When he finally spoke it was a question that caught me off guard.

"Do you still love him?" he whispered.

"What?"

He sighed before continuing.

"When you first got together, you loved talking about him. Now everytime you so much as mention his name, you almost wince. I just don't understand is all" he shrugged honestly.

One of the worst things abut keeping things from Niall was that he knew me all too well.

"It doesn't really seem like your happy with him" he added.

"That's because I'm not" I mumbled.

My eyes widened.

Did I just say that out loud?
