Wrecking Ball
Chapter 39
I stare at Grace pleading with my eyes for her to say something or at least move. Grace just stares back at me before slowly turning her head towards Niall and smiling.
‘Yes.’ Grace whispered.
The whole restaurant started to clap including Harry. I hadn’t even noticed that everyone was watching and I swiftly joined in the clapping as Niall engulfed Grace in a hug and kissed her.
A waiter came over to our table with a bottle of champagne and popped it over filling all off our glasses except Grace’s. Harry had walked around the table to congratulate Niall so Grace took that opportunity to make our excuses and go somewhere private we can talk.
I’m sitting on the sinks while Grace is pacing back and forth in the bathroom admiring her ring every now and again.
‘So tell me again what happened with Louis.’ I ask trying to get my head around what happened.
‘Louis showed up this morning and he demanded anther paternity test or he would out me to Niall so I handed the samples in this afternoon and I can pick the results up day after tomorrow.’ Grace said stopping in front of me. ‘Louis is going to find out he is the dad.’
I rubbed my forehead before remembering something I had read on the original paternity test. ‘Grace that first test was only something like 65% accurate. You’re further along now so it will be more accurate now so you still have a chance of it being Nialls.’
Grace considered what I said and nodded slowly. ‘I hope so.’
‘Now let’s go celebrate with your fiancée.’ I smiled at her and pulled her into a hug.
*A Few Days Later*
It’s the day of Grace’s results and I’m waiting in the car for her while she goes into the doctor’s and gets them. I twist my hair nervously as I see her leaving the building holding the brown envelope.
‘Please be Niall’s.’ I mumble to myself.
Grace opens the passenger door to my car and slides in holding the envelope like it was a bomb ready to explode.
‘Are you ready?’ I say startling her slightly.
Grace nods and looks towards me for support as she rips the top of the envelope off. She takes a deep breath before pulling the single piece of paper out of the envelope and scanning it for the information she needs.
‘Niall’s the dad.’ Her whole face lights up but I’m not sure I heard her right so I take the paper off of her and read it for myself.
DNA taken from Mother’s blood and DNA taken from Mr Louis Tomlinson is not a match.
I re read it a few times making sure I’m reading it right and hand the piece of paper back to her. We both let out a huge sigh of relief and laugh.
‘Thank god for that.’ I smile. ‘Where to now?’
‘Louis. I need to show him.’ Grace can’t help but smile even though her next job was going to be her most difficult.
I pull up outside Louis new flat and take my keys out of the ignition. ‘Are you ready?’
Grace doesn’t answer me and climbs out of the car on a mission. I follow her up the stairs and to Louis door. Grace pauses before knocking lightly on the door.
I hear feet thudding towards the door and the door open revealing Louis standing in front of us.
‘Louis I have the results of the paternity test.’ Grace rambles before shoving the piece of paper into Louis hand.
*Louis's P.O.V*
I look from Samii to Grace before looking down at the folded paper in my hand. I place the beer I was holding on the floor and unfold the paper. My eyes immediately go to the bold lettering at the bottom of the page and my worst fears are confirmed. I’m not the father.
My heart drops and I fight back tears.
‘I’m sorry Louis.’ I hear Grace say but it doesn’t sink in.
‘Leave.’ I mumble.
‘Louis?’ Samii says.
‘LEAVE.’ I realise I’m shouting now so I slam the door shut and go on a hunt for my phone.
I scroll through the contacts until I find Niall’s and press call. After a few beeps Niall answers.
‘Grace and I slept together more times then she has admitted. Ask her when you next see her.’ I hang up and start scrolling through my contacts again before I find Harry’s name.
I pause as I hover my finger over the call button.
*Samii's P.O.V*
Grace unlocks her front door and we step in but Niall is waiting for us at the entrance of the living room. I notice a bag by the front door but before I have a chance to say anything or move Niall is already in front of Grace.
‘How many times did you sleep with Louis?’ Niall asks trying to control his anger.
‘What are you talking about?’ Grace steps back frightened.
‘Answer me.’
‘Once.’ Grace lies.
‘Tell me the truth.’ Niall is shouting now and I move forward to say something. ‘Stay out of this Samii.’
I haven’t seen Niall this angry in a long time and it was starting to scare me.
‘About 5 times.’ Grace finally whispers.
Niall looks down and sniffs trying to control his tears before walking around Grace and me, picking up his bag and walking out of the door.
I start to panic. He can’t be doing this. Not with Grace 5 months pregnant. I run out of the front door following Niall and reach him just as he is about to climb into his car.
‘Niall please don’t do this.’ I beg him. ‘Grace has made mistakes. I’ve made mistakes but if you walk away now you will be making the biggest mistake of your life.’
Niall looks at me, his eyes starting to water. ‘I need time to think.’
Niall opens his car door and climbs in, starting his engine and driving off into the night.

Notes
Everyone I have bad news. It's coming to the end of this story :( :( :(I have not yet written the ending but I have two possible endings in my mind.
The first one could lead onto a sequel and the second ending wouldn't.
So I have to decide if I want to write a sequel and if I can think of a good enough story.
There are only a few more chapters so enjoy it :D
