The Last I'll Ever Need

Nine

Louis barely slept last night. All he could think about was how he kissed Harry, and that god damn look on Harry’s face when Louis pulled away; the shock. Louis awkwardly left right after that, not saying anything to Harry; and Louis didn’t want to know what Harry would have said because it probably would have been bad.
Louis dragged himself out of bed, ate breakfast quickly, and brought the rest of his bags down to the car, ready for the drive home.
When he got into the car his phone buzzed. He figured it was probably his mum, wishing him a merry Christmas eve and saying she can’t wait to see him. However when he looked at his phone, he suddenly felt like puking because, of course, it was Harry.
We need to talk. Meet up for breakfast?
No. No! Louis was not going to sit across from Harry, hearing him say, “I’m sorry, but I just don’t like you like that. We can still be friends, though.” Because even though Louis probably sounded selfish, he wanted Harry as a boyfriend or didn’t want him at all. Especially now that Harry knows Louis has feelings for him. Louis would just constantly feel embarrassed around Harry.
Can’t, about to leave. Louis texted back coldly.
Five minutes. Ten tops. It’s important, about last night.
About last night? Louis put his phone back in his pocket. There was no second thought now, he definitely wasn’t going. So he ignored Harry and started driving home.
Harry sat in his car for nearly twenty minutes, waiting, hoping for a response. Finally he realized that Louis probably wasn’t going to text back. Yeah, he could have just texted or called Louis to talk to him about this, but this was definitely an in person type conversation. Harry sighed, telling himself that waiting any longer will be useless. So he put the rest of his things in the car, and started his drive.
After Louis’ three hour drive he arrived home. He was ready to go in, spend time with his sisters and mum, and try to forget about Harry. And while that might not be the easiest thing, he convinced himself that he’ll get over Harry eventually.
As soon as Louis opened the door, he felt better. The twins were standing there waiting for him, and their faces lit up when they saw him. “Louis!” They screamed in unison.
“Hi, loves!” Louis hugged them tighter than he ever did before, so happy to finally be home.
They walked into the living room, Louis greeting his other two sisters and mum with hugs and hellos. Even being there for just three minutes Louis was glad, and could tell this would be a lovely vacation. And by the time he would get back to London, he may be okay with the fact that Harry’s gone.
Harry, however, was the opposite of Louis. He got home a few hours ago; made dinner for his mother, sister and himself and then went straight upstairs. He hates that he lets little things get to him, he was always like that, though. Also, how could he not think about it? You’re friend, who you like, kisses you, then runs off without saying anything, then won’t talk to you?!
Harry didn’t have any answers, and figured he wouldn’t get any soon. So he decided he would just try to make the best of his winter vacation.
