Chapter 15

*Niall’s POV*
I knew where she went. I knew that Cat knew where she went. But I wanted to talk to her alone, without anyone else there.
I also knew why she ran away. She was still scared I’d forget about her. Even after the X-Factor where I showed her, that she was important to me by calling her every evening. She was still scared I’d have so much to do, that I’d forget her.
Cat and I both stood up to go after Anna but when Cat looked me she shook her head and ran after Anna. Short after that I got a text message from Cat saying that the boys and I should leave. We actually did leave and went back to my house were we would be staying for the night before driving to Bradford.
There was no way that I could see Anna before we left so I decided to write her a letter. I wanted her to find it when she got home from school, so I knocked on the door of her house hoping someone would be home.
Strangely Cat opened the door.
“Hey Niall, what are you doing here?”
“I wanted to bring Anna this letter. Could you do me the favour and put it somewhere where she can find it without you giving it to her?” I asked. Cat nodded and then we said goodbye and I left.
*Cat’s POV*
I wouldn’t give her the letter. Anna said she was scared he’d forget her and that might be true but I knew Anna good enough to know, that there was something else. I think she thought she wasn’t good enough. For him, for me, for anyone.
She thought now that he was a star and would tour the world she wasn’t interesting or exciting enough.
She hadn’t told me but I knew she had made her decision. I saw it in her eyes when she talked about Niall. She looked tired and sad but there was also this determination. She was sure about her decision and she was going to try.
Niall wouldn’t be happy. He was her best friend and I knew he would miss her a lot and her decision to stop communicating with him would only make it worse.
*Anna’s POV*
It wasn’t easy to ignore his text messages. It wasn’t easy to reject his phone and skype calls. It wasn’t easy to stop thinking about him. Actually it was really hard. But I knew he was better off without me. I wanted him to concentrate on his career rather and ring and text me all the time.
I knew Cat was still talking to him, I caught her skyping him once. But she didn’t bring him up and I was really thankful for that, I wouldn’t be able to keep a straight face. It probably start crying and wouldn’t stop.
Not having him around me made me realize how much I liked and needed him and I nearly thought I loved him. But that couldn’t be. I couldn’t love him.
I don’t know how I survived school every day. I saw him sitting in his chair in the corner of my eye, but every time I looked closely, he wasn’t there. Of course he wasn’t, he was somewhere with the boys recording an album.
The days passed by in a blur and I don’t really remember anything of what had happened.
*Cat’s POV*
She didn’t listen when someone talked to her. She was in her own little world where everything reminded her of Niall. She looked numb, she also acted numb.
She didn’t really eat and she spent most of her nights lying awake on the bed staring into the darkness.
She didn’t listen to music anymore. She didn’t sing.
She was purely existing, nothing more. When her mom realized how bad her state was, she asked me to move in with them and try to get through to her. So since a few weeks I lived at Anna’s house.
I talked to Niall every evening, not mentioning Anna. He missed her, but he didn’t mention her either, we just talked about what he and the boys are doing.
He was excited about this whole One Direction thing and I was happy for him.
*Niall’s POV*
I tried calling Anna every day but she never picked up. She didn’t answer my text messages either.
I missed her, a lot . I couldn’t describe how much. Even the boys got concerned after a few days
“Niall, mate, is everything alright?” Liam asked, as I was eating dinner emotionless.
“Yeah, sure, what should be wrong?” I lied. I haven’ told them, that Anna doesn’t answer her phone.
“You don’t seem to enjoy anything anymore” he said, looking concerned.
“No, everything’s fine” I said and tried to smile but I don’t think that smile was very convincing.
“You can tell me when something’s wrong, you know that right?” he asked and looked at me sternly.
“It’s Anna” I said.
