Chapter 13
*Anna’s POV*
We spent hours playing video games and laughing. I was happy to have some fun time with Niall, but the real reason I wanted to show him this was because it was a great place to talk about serious topics.
“Niall” I said, trying to get his attention.
“What?” he asked with his mouth full and looked up from the left over cupcake from the breakfast he just ate.
“I need to talk to you” I said and looked to the ground. I was a little bit scared to tell him about it, because I felt stupid.
“Okay…” he said and waited for me to start talking.
I wasn’t sure how to say it, so I stayed silent for a bit longer.
“What is it, Anna? You know you can tell me everything” he said, now looking concerned, because I usually tell him everything right away and never keep secrets.
“I’m scared” I said.
“Of what? Whatever it is, you can be sure I’ll protect you” he said sternly.
I shook my head. “You can’t” I whispered, tearing up.
“What? Of course I can. I’m the best protector in the entire world” he said trying to make me laugh.
“No, you can’t, that’s the problem” I said, now sobbing.
Niall got serious again and I think he was a bit scared too because I was apparently so afraid of something that I cried.
“Seriously, Anna, you can tell me what you’re so afraid of” he said.
“It’s you” I whispered and looked at him with teary eyes. He looked confused.
“What? Why would you be afraid of me?” he asked.
“I’m not afraid of you! I’m afraid of losing you! I’m afraid you’ll forget me, now you’re on the X-Factor…” I screamed.
Niall looked shocked. “Anna, what the hell are you talking about? I’d never forget you. You’re my best friend and I can’t stand seeing you this sad. You’ll never lose me, I’ll be around as long as you want me” he said, looking into my eyes. When I turned my face to the ground, he took my cheeks in his hands and turned my head so that I was looking at him.
“Anna, I can’t live without you anymore.”
I was glad to hear that but somehow I still didn’t really believe it was true. I nodded slightly and looked to the ground.
*Niall’s POV*
“Seriously, Anna, you can tell me what you’re so afraid of” I said
She was looking to the ground.
“It’s you” she whispered and when she looked up, I saw that there were tears in her eyes. I was really confused. How could I be scary in any way? I was the most caring and nice guy ever.
“What? Why would you be afraid of me?” I asked.
She looked up and I saw that she now looked frustrated and a little bit angry.
“I’m not afraid of you! I’m afraid of losing you! I’m afraid you’ll forget me, now you’re on the X-Factor…” she yelled.
That was the most stupid thing I’ve ever heard. To be honest I was a little bit hurt that she’d think that.
“Anna, what the hell are you talking about? I’d never forget you. You’re my best friend and I can’t stand seeing you this sad. You’ll never lose me, I’ll be around as long as you want me” I said looking into her eyes. She now looked less stressed but she still didn’t seem to believe me. She looked to the ground but I took her face in my hands and turned it, so that she was looking at me.
“Anna, I can’t live without you anymore” I said looking her in the eyes as serious as possible.
She still didn’t look entirely convinced, but at least she wasn’t crying anymore.
“Now, that we finished this serious conversation and you stopped crying, I think we should go home, it’s already getting dark” I said, stood up and held out my hand to help her up.
Anna shook her head.
“I told your mom, we’d sleep here. I brought sleeping bags and stuff yesterday evening” she said, her voice still husky from the yelling and crying. She took my hand and stood up.
“I also have some dinner” she said and laughed when she heared my stomach growling.
“You’re awesome” I said and gave her a little kiss on the cheek. She blushed and got out some cold pizza and pasta out of the picnic basket that was standing in the corner.
We spent the entire evening talking and laughing about some random crap, first at the table and later in the other room, in our sleeping bags.
The tree house was amazing, there was a window so big, that from where I was lying I could see the stars. It was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to and it was also the most amazing day and night I’ve ever had.
