Chapter 27
Sarah's POV:
I braced myself got whatever was to come. But nothing came. Instead I heard a grunt, and twigs snapped. I opened my eyes to see James laying on the ground with someone on top of him beating the snot out of him.
I collapsed with relief, and lay on the forest ground breathing heavily. I heard James giving cries of pain. Then they stopped and I heard only someone else breathing heavily.
"Sarah. Are you alright?" Came a familiar American accent. Xavier! I looked up at him looking down at me. He knelt beside me, and pushed my hair from my face.
"You look as though you've been through a lot today." He said with a smile. I sat up, and smiled a little. Im not sure why, but he made me smile. I would be lying if i didnt feel a little tingle when he said my name.
"What brings you into these forests?" He asked. "Gang battle." I replied. He sighed. "Those stupid gangs. People get killed everyday over that crap."
I nodded. Then we fell into an awkward silence. I was thinks g about what to say, but then I didnt have to. "Get away from her." Growled a deep familiar voice. Harry.
Xavier barely glanced at him. "It's a free county." He said. Wow someone who wasnt afraid of Harry. "We aren't here to mess around Xavier. Remember what happened last time you were talking to her?" Said Zayn.
That's when I saw they were all there. Minus Louis of course. I hoped a medic had found him. Whatever James had done to him didnt look good.
"Does it look like shes running away? And Im going to point out she didnt run away until you showed up." Said Xavier cooly getting to his feet.
"Get lost." Barked Niall. I looked between the two groups. Finally I spoke up. "Stop it! You're all being silly." Everyone stared at me.
"Sarah you can't go around talking to everyone." Said Liam. "I can talk to whoever I please." I shot back. I thought they would be angry. I never really sasses them before.
To my suprise Harry was not angry. He was looking at me in intrest. What was this?
I decided to continue. "You don't control me. Xavier just sacked me so yes im talking to him. If you don't like it, walk away."
Zayn and Niall looked like they were going to rip my face off. Liam was in shock. Harry...intrigued? This sure was different.
"Come with us right now Sarah. We have to get you home." Growled Zayn. I scoffed. "What home. I have no home. You took y home away!" I snapped.
"Sarah." Said Niall in a warning voice. I rolled my eyes. "Im no use to you anyways. My powers are gone." They all looked at me in shock.
"What do you mean?" Asked Liam. "When James attacked me I had no powers." I replied. Xavier suddenly looked like he had an idea and moved behind me.
Harry was going to lunge forward, but Liam blocked him. He looked curious. I felt Xavier tap the bak of my neck and something fell off.
"You were chipped. It took away your powers. It's gone now. Your good." He said. "Good. Lets go." Said Zayn impatiently. "No. Im not going with you." I said, standing my ground.
"Sarah. Please." Said Liam with a pleading look. "Maybe O can take er out for a night. Just for some fun." Suggested Xavier, putting his arm around me.
Harry went stiff. Then to my shock he lunged forward at Xavier. Knocking him to the ground he began punching his face. "HARRY!" I yelled, and shot my hand out.
The powers shot out at Harry, knocking him off Xavier. Liam rushed forward and grabbed my arm and began leading me away. "No! I can't just leave Xavier!" I protested, trying to wrench free.
"We are going. He'll be fine." Said Niall, helping Liam lead me away. No. I wasnt going down without a fight.
