A New Family
Chapter 9
Lily's POV:
I was sitting in a chair at one of my friends house, I don't exactly remember who, but it's better that way. I wanted to be alone, but no one ever left me alone, the doctors said I need someone next to me all the time. But the silence was broken when the door swung open, with Eleanor, Louis, and several other men and women coming in that I cared for as little as my appearance.
"Lily, Eleanor and I have adopted you." Louis just blurted out. It took me a good thirty seconds to get that through my head, but then I realized that Louis and Eleanor had given me a second chance to live again, and belong. I was so grateful that I burst into tears. Eleanor gave me a huge hug and asked me:
"Guess what? Because of you, Louis and I are engaged." She grinned at me and displayed her ring for me to see. I shared a smile with Louis.
"You had the courage to ask her, I'm so proud of you."
He laughed and put his arm around me as well. I signed the adoption papers that required my approval and spent one night actually sleeping soundly. In about a month and a half I was to be starting school in England where I was to live in Eleanor and Louis's new house. I couldn't be more happier at this second chance and I swore up and down that I wouldn't ruin this new family. And I would do anything in my power to make sure I would keep them forever.
So much had changed over two weeks and I was sorry that I was to leave all my friends and childhood memories in Minnesota. But I was effervescent that I was now Lily Tomlinson, daughter of the most amazing couple in the world.
