Lily's POV:

"You ready to go?" I nodded at Luke, and adjusted my heavy backpack on my shoulder.

"I can carry that if you want, I don't have a backpack."

"It's fine, you're already helping me with homework, I don't want to put anything else on your shoulders."

"No really," he slipped the backpack off my shoulders and hoisted it onto his own. I sighed, he was so stubborn. Luke led me to the bike racks and unlocked his bike from the rack.

"My house is only five blocks away, but we could go to the park instead and it would only be three."

"Well, I kind of want to change out of this... Hang on, give me two minutes." I rushed back inside school and entered the girls bathroom. I came back outside with my dark blue jeans on and a gray tank top.

"Aren't you cold?" He pointed to my tank top. In response, I shivered when a cool, autumn breeze passed by. I rubbed my goose-bumped-arms and pulled my hair onto my freezing shoulders.

"I am not putting that school uniform shirt back on." I said defiantly.

"Here," Luke pulled off his own sweatshirt and handed it to me, when our hands touched my heart jumped. I greatfully put it on and hugged myself, warming up. We started walking down the block. Trying to avoid awkward silence, I said:

"Thank you, and why don't you have a back pack?"

"I've never had a day of homework in my life. I always get it done in class."

"Why does that not surprise me." Luke grinned, "What about a pencil?" Luke took a green mechanical pencil out of his jeans pocket.

"I've had this since Pre-school. I've never found a better pencil. Every week I just add more led or when necessary, an eraser. I've never lost it either."

My eyes widened. Jeez, I lose things everyday.

We walked in silence from then on. When we arrived at the park we sat on an enormous rock in the sunlight. I picked up two smaller rocks and placed them on top of my math papers to keep them from flying away and making my life even more difficult.

"I'm just going to quick call my mom," said Luke, digging into his pocket.

"Yeah, I should too." I pulled out my iPhone and dialed Eleanor's number.

"Hey, Eleanor?"

"Yes Lily?"

"I'm with a... Tutor to help me with my math homework. I might be back late."

"Okay, I'll just call up one of my friends to go to a movie."

"Alright, I'll call you when I know I'm coming home."

"Okay, bye." I pushed End Call, locked my phone, and put it back into my pocket. I looked over to the other side of the rock, where Luke was standing. I climbed on top of the rock and settled myself on my stomach, my elbows supporting me.

"Mom chill, I'm not with some gang!...yeah, don't worry...yes, I have money...I don't know!...okay...love you too...yeah...bye." Luke gave me a tinny smile and a laughed.

"Sounds like Mummy, doesn't want you here. Maybe I should head home?" I hocked, mocking his British accent, Luke laughed.

"No it's fine, shes just...overprotective. And please, don't use that voice again."

"Shall we get started?"

"Yeah, at best, we'll finish by six thirty."

"Three and a half hours?!?"

"Probably," I sighed, dramatically.

"Lets do this."
