A New Family

Jacob's POV:

As soon as the Tomlinson's left, I ran to my room and pulled up my window. I quickly changed into some shorts and a t-shirt and sighed in relief. Dinner went well, I could tell that Red was confused about my feelings towards her because she stared at me for the entire dinner. I learned her name, Lily but I prefer Red. Red was very slick when I gave her those flowers, I totally forgot that her parents would be joining the dinner and I defiantly don't want to deal with them.

Earlier, I had gathered a cup of pebbles from outside, now I was going to get Red's attention. I threw a rock, Bullseye! Right in the center of her window, I waited for her, impatiently and threw another one. I called Lily's name and threw one more rock. She opened her window, looking stunning in her gray shirt.

"You know if you hadn't opened your window in the next five seconds, I would've thrown a boulder at it?" I joked, she laughed and replied:

"You got what you wanted, so what do you want from me?"

"I wanted to see you and your beautiful smile." She blushed and tucked her hair behind her ear, that was such a turn on.

"Your cute when you blush," I added, her cheeks grew redder.

"So, do you fancy anyone?" I asked hopefully, she shook her head no.

"No? What about me?" I couldn't believe it, this was the first time I've ever been shot down by a girl! She laughed at my facial expression and said:

"We'll see." She shut her window. I just sat by mine and kept staring across at hers, Hoping that she would come back out to say "Just kidding, yeah I like you." But she never did, so I closed my window and layed down on my bed. That line was my famous line for picking up girls, I've never been rejected, even a hot college babe admitted a small crush on me! I was being charming and flattering and she still didn't like me!

I stayed up all night, thinking about Red.


Nick's POV:

"Hey I need to go, I think Eleanor's calling me. Can we Skype tomorrow?" I was crushed, I had spent all morning fixing my hair and clothes for Lily. But I didn't want her to see my disappointment and asked:

"I guess... nine o'clock tomorrow?"

"Sure," she looked to the right, "see ya." Then my screen went black. I closed my laptop and sighed disappointedly. I missed Lily so much and I've been treasuring our time together at camp. Swimming at the beach, laughing in the lunchroom, sitting next to each other by the camp fire...all those memories of Lily and I were perfect.

I remember the first time I met her I was like, she's way out of my league. But her guy friends were in my cabin so we hung out a bit and became friends. I've always wanted to hold her small hand and comb through her shiny red curls. But camp only lasted a week and I never got my feelings out to her. And now that we both liked each other, she was four thousand miles away.

I ran my hands through my hair and prayed that she still liked me. I almost felt empty as I went down to breakfast, maybe that's because Lily stole my heart and took it to London with her.
