Liam's Girl

Chapter Fifteen

-Liam-

My heart pounded in my throat as I got out of the car. The boys and I were in LA to do a few shows as part of our tour. This was where Skyler lived.

It had been three months and thirteen days since she and I had last seen each other in person. Although we frequently facetimed, skyped, called, texted, etc to no end, I never felt the same as when I was with her physically by my side.

I remember my last words to her. I told her that I loved her, and she had said it back, flustered. It was so cute when she was surprised, and that is exactly why I was here.

I leaned against the hood of my black car. I could still feel my pulse everywhere. Right now, the campus seemed empty, but I knew that everyone would pour out of the doors very soon.

I had found Skyler's school through her facebook, and now here I was, constantly checking my watch even though I had no idea when she was going to get out. I assumed 3:00, and remained leaning against my car until I finally heard the bell ring.

-Skyler-

I was swamped in school. I had a presentation in a couple days, a looming mountain of a thesis paper coming up, additional to all of the regular school work, not to mention school applications that I had been stressing over for weeks.

I rushed and caught up with my friends who were quickly walking toward the exit. They invited my over for a study group and I accepted. One of them proceeded to talk about this new boy who had been staring at her during math class.

We were all laughing and joking. I responded to a text from Liam. It said "I really miss you xx." I replied, "I miss you too!"

When we finally got outside, I almost tripped and fell over my friends who had stopped short in front of me. "Come on guys stop" I said to them, a little annoyed. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty mad with them when I first told them that I had gone out with Liam Payne. I mean, I understand that that is a little unbelievable, but still. I am their friend, and they should trust me. Even after I showed them every single picture we took together, they still took a while to absorb it.

I thought that this was another one of their questionaires when they stopped to ask me everything about him and the other boys. But when I looked up, they were just staring. Staring at something across the courtyard.

Now I'm short, so I had to jump to see over their shoulders at what they were looking at. That is when Liam sent me another text. "Look up."

My friends made way for me as I pushed past them. I looked where they were looking, and all of the sudden my brain seized. There he was. It was like a dream.

There he was: Liam Payne in all his glory. He was swarmed by girls, but looking straight at me. He was leaning casually against the front of his big, black car, wearing big, black sunglasses. His hair was perfectly swept and glistening in the sunlight, his muscled arms beautifully crossed across his toned chest (visible through his thin t shirt I might add). He was just plain beauty, radiating at me from across the parking lot.

He lifted a corner of his mouth, smirking playfully at me. I realized how stupid I must look, standing there with my eyes wide and my mouth open.

At last I started running. I ran as fast as I could. I ran so that my legs felt like they were going to trip or even fall off and I would be sent tumbling down in front of everyone. I saw him pushing the throng of people out of the way, spreading his strong arms to catch me.

I jumped and he immediately wrapped his arms around my waist. We didn't say anything for a while. I don't think that either of us really knew what to say. But it was perfect, no, beyond perfect to be standing here with the boy who I loved and missed.

He finally moved his head and gave me kiss after kiss on the cheek.

-Liam-

Even though I was the one who planned this, I still felt baffled. There she was, in my arms, that adorable surprised look on her face that I loved. I planted kisses on her cheek and she giggled. I kept kissing her, just to make sure she was real, and that she didn't go away.

I felt her small, warm hands on my face. Her fingers lifted my jaw and she kissed me. She kissed me really hard too. Probably the hardest his I ever got from her. It was long and sweet. I loved the way her mango chapstick tasted and how soft and warm her lips were.

Everything about her was small and delicate from head to foot. But what was not was her personality, and her kiss. She kissed me harder still, and ran her fingers through my hair, sending shivers down my spine. I realized that usually I was the one in charge. I was the one making her shiver, but this time she had turned the tables on me. And I found that incredibly sexy.

I also found it incredibly sexy when the fans that had gathered earlier to take pictures with me and to ask me to sign things started wolf whistling, and instead of stopping, she just gave them the finger, and then returned to her task of greeting me.

I'm so glad I came. I'm so glad she had come to New York. I'm so glad that we met. I'm so glad that she was the one I loved.
