"Wha-What?" I said breathlessly. I couldn't believe that he had just said that.

"I don't know why I didn't tell you sooner," he continued, "because I knew as soon as we went to the park that night, and everything just made sense." He was smiling broadly, his chest still slightly rising and falling from our little run.

"I love you too." I blurted out. It didn't sound as romantic as I had hoped, but he had to know, and fast. I heard the loud, obnoxious DING DONG from the speaker above, with the announcement that it was the last call to be boarding my flight.

He hastily pulled something out of his pocket. It was a silver bracelet. It took my breath away.

As he hooked it onto my wrist, he said, "This is my promise to you that we're going to make this work. Because I love you more than I could ever believe I could love anyone."

I twirled it around my wrist. He brought his arm around my waist and pulled me in for one last kiss.

I knew that she had started crying when I tasted salty tears on her lips as I kissed her. The announcement rang again, and we separated. I kissed a tear away from her face, and we turned and ran toward the gate.

As they went through security, I was just standing there, watching them. The other boys had shown up at the last minute to say bye. Skyler kept looking back at me. Maybe she was checking if I was still there. But I knew that she was memorizing me, as I was doing the same to her.

When we were through security, I looked back. They were all standing there, waving merrily, except for Liam, who looked so sad. I wish he would lighten up. I wish I could lighten up. I was going to see him again. Was I?

I made eye contact with Liam for as long as I could before I was warned by a security guard that my flight was boarding.

Just before she turned the corner, she turned. And she waved at me. And I waved at her. And that was it.
