One Direction Grown Ups
Chapter 3- the funeral
Harry's POV
"now remember Darcy stand up straight and no talking during the ceremony" Casey reminded Darcy for the millionth time in the car alone.
"yes mum I remember" Darcy said rolling her eyes. I laughed at my daughter and she laughed a little too. We were driving to the funeral home from Simons cabin, or I suppose now it's ours. Simon left it to us in the will. The funeral home wasn't very far, the cabin was apart of this small town, with a couple thousand people I think. I was driving while Casey made the final adjustments on all of us. We pulled up and Liam, Dani, Andy, and Hannah were all there already along with Lauren Cowell, we all called her Mrs. Cowell. I got out of the followed by Casey and Darcy.
"Mrs. Cowell, I don't think you've ever met Darcy before. This is my daughter Darcy, and Darcy this is Mrs. Cowell" I said introducing the two.
"nice to meet you Mrs. Cowell" Darcy said shaking her hand. I heard another car pull up and out walked Zayn, Perrie and Cassidy. Darcy went up to Cassidy and they started talking and walking around the grounds. Soon Andy joined the two girls. Zayn and Perrie joined the group and we started chatting about what we should do over the weekend. The ladies realizing how immature we were went off in their own group.
the funeral home was packed, even outside of it there were tons of people. It was great to see so many people came to honour such a great man. The eulogy began and Liam was first. He started off normal but then went all weird by started singing some weird opera thing. I heard behind me "bet £5 it brings him to his knees" Louis was betting with Niall.
"your on!" Niall said. We sat back and watched, we were laughing because it was so funny. I mean we all knew that Simon was not a fan of this stuff. And as he got on one knee I could hear Louis, "oh! YES!" But not too loudly so then only Niall could hear that he lost. "A bets a bet" Niall said handing Louis the £5. Soon the four of us were just down right laughing our asses off. We decided to mess with Liam's last note by making a buzzer sound. "EEEEH" Louis said
"grow up!" Liam shouted as the funeral home bursted with laughter. he got off the stage. And Louis was asked to speak. You could tell he was shocked, he didn't have any paper or anything.
"gosh, this is an honour, that Simon asked for me to speak. I'm going to start off by saying that, Simon was a great man, great husband, great manager, and a great judge. He was a pleasure to work with. The one thing he always told us, before One Direction broke up was, always be true to you. Because if even you don't believe in the music then, neither will the fans. He was the reason so many people had successful careers, and he will be missed. Thank you" Louis finished off, leaving the stage as people applauded. The ceremony didn't last much longer. Soon the burial happened and then the kind of after party thing I guess you could call it. Where we all ate, had a bit to drink, all that good stuff.
after that we all went back to the cabin. Where Liam was already bustling about where were all going. In the end the kids got the master bedroom, and we all got different rooms. Getting settled for a great weekend ahead.
