Chapter 11
Previously on Effie's Destiny:
“Start alternating, one arm, one leg” said Liam continuously moving his hands up and down. “Faster Effie, faster, come on!” As his speed increased her kicks became more precise but she sometimes lost in strength. “Do you regret these drinks now? Your eyes! Keep your eyes on my hands. Faster! Stronger! You’re losing strength. Come one! I’m getting bored pretty face!” Liam was now shouting but Effie kept going. Her breathing was now fast and you see sweat starting to pearl on her temples but she didn’t stop. Her eyes were focusing, her face determined, her arms and legs kicking with strength and precision. Every shout by Liam was pushing her further on the edge but she wouldn’t quit.

She now had a smile and because she wasn’t pushing too much she was now feeling better. If Liam knew he would never have pushed, he would never have accepted to train her…

Shopping trip between girls.
“Seriously you want to buy this? Who, in their right mind, would buy this?” asked Ella to Perrie who was showing her a bright pink crop top. They were in Primark and were getting some essential for their clothes collections, a cheap but perfect shop for that.
“I would but definitely not in pink. I leave pink to Perrie but I’ll take the neon green one. I have the perfect skirt to go with it” said Effie grabbing the top and throwing it in the bag. “Let’s go now, I think we have enough and I need coffee.” She led the girls to the tills and each of them paid for their stuff. Little did Ella and Perrie knew that Effie had a surprise for them. Earlier they were in Selfridges, a huge shop with many designer counters and the girls have spent a lot of time at the YSL counter. Effie has bought 2 clutches for her 2 friends. In less than a month they got really close and were always together so she just wanted to thank them for their kindness and friendship.
“Girls I have something for you” said Effie as Perrie sat down with their drinks. They had finally stopped in Starbucks and following Liam’s advice she had gotten a Cool Lime Refresha. The brunette then put two yellow bags in front of her friends and took her cardigan off. It was such a warm day for the end of September and she was really glad she was wearing that skirt today.
“Oh my God! You are crazy Eff!” shrieked both girls as they discovered their presents.
“That’s the…” but Effie couldn’t finish as the two girls tackled her into a massive bone crushing hug.
“Thank you so so so much! We now need to go out to show off these little bad boys” said Perrie.
“How about tonight? The boys are going to be at Raffles as per usual so we can get some food then meet them there” suggested Ella.
“Oh maybe you just want to see Harry… You don’t need to use this girls night out as an excuse” teased Effie elbowing Perrie with complicity before laughing out loud.
“Ah ah ah very funny you two! So… What are you girls wearing then?”
“Well… I have an idea but…” Effie started
“But you feel it might be slutty. Come on babe you think this all the time but you will never ever be slutty no matter what. What is this outfit like then?”
“Leather like high-waist skirt with a multi-coloured crop top. I’ve got these high, very high black ankle boots that I’m dying to wear” Effie replied with little girl’s eyes full of excitement.
“Damn Effie if Liam doesn’t fall in love with you wearing this I will need to get his sexuality checked and buy him glasses” joked Ella.
“Wait you forgot about Louis. He too would need glasses. Oh but no… he is already in love with our little Effie” added Perrie.
“Shut it girls!2This was a tricky topic for Effie. Lately Louis and her have been arguing quite a lot about her training but they were also making up in bed and the more they were having sex the more they were arguing. Louis was overwhelming his best friend, he was worrying too much, interfering in her sessions with Liam and it was definitely bringing tensions in the group. Nobody could ignore Louis’ attitude towards Effie and Liam at times. He acted like an idiotic jealous boyfriend when he is none of the two – idiotic and a boyfriend to Effie.
“Come on Eff, he likes you a lot you can’t deny that” dared Perrie.
“Yes I know but he knows how I feel about love, I don’t do relationship. He is suffocating me and I’m losing patience. He is losing me” admitted the young girl. She was upset but did not let any emotions show, it was not her and the girls were now used to it. However it doesn’t mean that they don’t care for their friend.
“We need to find him a girl. He needs someone new and you need to slow down too, Louis is right” said Perrie taking her friend’s hand.
“What do you mean?”
“I’m talking to you as a nurse, not as a friend but you are pushing your boundaries too far. You’ve lost weight lately when you should put on some when you gain muscles. We love you, a lot, you are part of our lives whether you like it or not and we care”
“Is that an intervention? What do you suggest? I can’t stop sport, I will put all my weight back on…”
“We are not asking you to. Just try not to train every single day, maybe every other day and if you need to go everyday alternate. No boxing every day. Liam is going to stop you real soon if you continue like this.”
“I don’t want to stop boxing…”
“Never. We would never ask you to do that plus Liam really wants you to kick Harry’s ass. How about you come to me every two days? Bikram would be a good alternative and it will help your inner balance when you are boxing.” Ella stepped in making the two other girls smile at her comment about Harry.
Effie was so lucky to have so wonderful friends who cared so much about her. As they changed topic taking about tonight’s outfits she started sipping her drink a smile on her beautiful face. She is happy and had amazing friends, what else to want?
