Chapter Twenty-Two, "Sickness"
"I did not say that!" Bim laughed.
"You so did! You said that Chelsea would loose, and they won. Face the fact, and give me my ten bucks!" I said and put my hand in front of her.
"You don't have any proof." She said stubborn and smiled teasingly.
"No, but I have a witness, right Liam?" I grinned.
Liam laughed, but put his hands up in the air.
"I was never here." He laughed.
"See? I like you Liam." Bim laguhed.
"Fine, but next time you make a bet, I will record it." I said and faked being mad.
It had been a good day. We had been strolling around in a mall and laughing, talking and enjoying ourselfs. We had also gone to a bar to drink something, but something weird happened.
"What are you ordering?" I asked Liam. "I'm paying, right?"
"Yeah, uhm.. I'll just take a soda, please." He said.
"Is that supposed to be a joke? Of course you're having something else! C'mon Liam, I'll pay, whatever the price is." I smiled and nudged his shoulder.
"No, really. I'm fine. I'm not feeling it. But hey, we can watch football on the TV!" He smiled.
I thought about it the whole day. Was he just not feeling it, like he said? Or was it something else? I didn't want to make conclusions, but maybe he became violent when he was drunk? Not that we planned to get drunk, but I had never had a beer with him, and I didn't know how much he wanted. We took the bus home. Just before opening the college-doors, I stopped.
"Hey, I had really fun today, guys." I said and smiled to both of them.
They were the best. Bim was great, of course, but also Liam. He was like the perfect best friend. And Bim smiled and nodded slowly, maybe feeling a bit awkward. Because that's just who she is. Awkward. But she smiled, and then put her hand on my shoulder and walked inside. I felt the area she touched me. It was warm.
"Hey, Kath.." Liam said before I grabbed the doorhandle.
"Yeah?"
He looked down on his shoes, and put his hands in his pockets, like he was nervous.
"Thanks for today.. really. It was great. And for asking me to come.. It was really kind of you." He blushed.
"No worries, I like you." I smiled.
"You do?"
"Yeah, you're different." I said.
He looked at me, with the softest eyes. It was adorable.
"You too." He said low.
A bit awkward, I broke our eyecontact by opening the door for him.
"Let's go in." I said and put my arm around his neck, and he did the same.
The clock was ringing, once again, and my hand was groping on the table next to me to find the pink alarmclock. When I finally turned it off, I was standing up, furious.
"Well goodmorning to you too.." Bim said sleepy and giggled under her blanket.
"Not. Funny. The clock is slippery, and the table is slippery. I can't turn it off if I don't stand up, it's like everyones nightmare." I said, mad.
After shoving some hair out of my face, I decided to get dressed and go and buy a Starbucks. So I got dressed and closed the door after me. And actually, I was kind of hoping someone of the guys would call my name and walk me down. I loved them now, even though I hadn't hung out with them for that long. And as I thought, I heard a voice behind me.
"Hey, Kath!"
I turned around to see Louis. He had a big smile on his face.
"Wanna buy some breakfast together?" He asked.
"Sure." I giggled. "I was on my way to buy a Starbucks anyway."
We walked down to the cafeteria, and as always, the local was huge and buzzing with people. But.. somehow, it wasn't the same. People walked around like zombies, and it was less people than usual.
I was going to say something to Louis, but I was interuppted by a guy who coughed in my face. It was disgusting, and Louis told him to get the hell out of there.
Together, we bought two Starbucks and an sandwich for Louis. I felt relaxed when I the coffee went down my throat, it was really like a drug to me. I swallowed and closed my eyes, enjoying the taste only Starbucks could deliver.
"Is it good?" Louis asked, smiling.
"It's fantastic."
I watched his face.
"Wait, you haven't tasted this one?" I asked, surprised.
He shook his head and my jaw dropped.
"But, have you tasted this one?" He said and pointed at his own.
I felt bad, I hadn't.
"Fair enough." I said and made us both laugh.
Then the speaker was turned on and you could hear the principal.
"Goodmorning, students. There is an illness going around the college, and it is going to affect a lot of people here. It's not dangerous, but it will get you down to the bed. So ignore it, just let is pass. If many of you get sick, we will cancel classes. Have a great day."
Everyone was quiet. Someone sighed. Then everyone started buzzing again.
"Fuck.." Louis whispered.
"Lucky Harry." I giggled and sipped on my Starbucks.
But Louis looked terrified.
"Why aren't you.. scared?" He asked.
"Don't worry about me. I have like the strongest immune systeme ever, I won't get sick." I grinned.

Yes, I felt so too. But hey, if you wanna check out my new fanfiction, please do! It hasn't as good updating as this one had, but it's only because I want every chapter to be inspired, good, and well - perfect. I've only written one chapter but I'm working on my second. x :)
