"Kath? Kath..? Wake up, Kath!"

I flinched, and sat up fast. Bim sat at my bed and grinned.

"What's so funny?" I groaned.

"Look at the clock."

It showed 8:31am. Oh my Lord, I was so late!!

"Bim!!" I shouted accusingly, and jumped into my closet.

"Relax." She laughed.

Huh? I came out.

"The class doesn't start until 9:30."

I breathed out.

"Why did you scare me like that?" I laughed and threw a pillow at her.

But why don't start dressing right away? I thought. I couldn't go back to sleep anyway. So I made my way back to the closet and took out a few clothes that made a pretty cool outfit. I made a quick makeup, and put my bag on my sholder.

"Are you ready to go?" I asked.

"I'll come later." She said, while she was on her computer.

"Okay. But were still going to that mall later, right?" I asked.

She looked up at me.

"Yeah, we are."

Phew. I smiled at her and closed the door. On my way down, I felt someone running behind me. It was Louis.

"Hey, babe." He said.

Babe? Did he mean it in like a "I-like-you"-way, or was it just a nickname he used on every girl? I wasn't sure, so I didn't think more about it.

"Hi Lou, how are you doing?"

"Too much coffee and too little sleep."

"Aouch. So what are you going to do now?" I asked.

"Getting more coffee." He laughed.

We walked down to the cafeteria, I bought a Starbucks and he bought black coffee. We sat down at a table. There was full of people everywhere, as usual.

"So, have you been in touch with your family?" He asked and sipped at his coffee.

"Actually, I called my mom yesterday."

"Do you miss them?"

I felt like a stone landed in my stomach. I knew it had only been five days but I already missed them.

"Yeah, I do. But what about you, have you called them?"

"No, not my parents. They are very busy."

I nodded slowly.

"I did call my grandpa, though." He laughed.


When all the classes was over, I held my gaze at Bim, in case she would bail on me. But surpisingly, she waited outside.

"Ready to go?" I asked.

"Whatever."

Then we started to walk. We waited on the bus, got on, and jumped of at the mall I told her about.

"This looks good, I guess." She said and started to walk towards the doors. I ran after her.

"So, do you wanna eat first or shop?"

"Let's get this over with." She said. "C'mon, let's shop."

From one store to another, we shopped us through the mall. Exhausted, we sat down at a bench.

"Do you want to eat something? Because I'm starving!"

"Sure, let's eat over there!" She pointed at a small café.

We walked over there and both odered warm chocolate. When we sat there, all quiet, I felt like getting it all of my chest.

"Okay, I know you probaly didn't enjoy this, but I just want to let you know that I did, and that I'm really trying.. I'm really trying to bond with you, and being your friend. I just want to let you know that.."

"Okay, just stop." She said, smiling. "I did. I did actually, you know.. Enjoy this."

My jaw dropped. What? Did Bim actually enjoy being with me?

"Y-you did? And I thought you.. Kind of hated me."

"I do not! Why would you think that?" She said.

Why did she sound surprised? She basically acts like she hate everyone.

"You just.. Send out vibes, you know."

"Well.." She rolled her spoon around in the cup. "I know I'm not like cheerish and happy all the time but.. I have my reasons."

"What reasons?" I asked confused.

"Just reasons."

I suddenly started to think that something was wrong.. Like something that made her be so uncomfortable and unsociable. I don't know what it was, but when I looked back at Bim, she had tears in her eyes.
