I must have had a dumbfounded look on my face for too long, because Louis was giving me an unsatisfying look. I shook the look off my face and beamed at Louis. Of course, he leered back at me. Right after came a little snicker from him. The nurse that had flowed in earlier had now departed from the room.
“I told the boys I would be back in London before the end of next week. Seriously Rai, everything is fine. I already called management and they are totally satisfied with it. Plus, they wanted one of us to stay here with Niall until he is prepared to return to London.” Louis declares.
I bob my head, trying to play along with it. Everything was going to turn out sufficient. Everything was going to be alright. Niall would wake up and they would go back to London. Me and the girls will continue tour and move on with our lives. I complain to Louis about how much my body aches. He must have thought my complaining was humorous, because he started laughing.
“Louis, seriously, it’s not a laughing matter. You know how much pain I’m in right now.” I say feistily.
Louis stopped cackling hastily, after I sassed. He looked at me, eyes full of sorrow. It’s weird how Louis could change from one emotion to another so quickly. I wasn’t going to question his logic though. I propped up and gradually dragged myself towards the wheel chair.
“Whoa now, Rai, where do you think you’re going?” Louis lunges at me to stop me from hurting myself. He sensibly picks me up and conveys me to the wheel chair waiting for me. He positions me in the wheel chair and asks me for the directions to my designation.
“Niall’s room please. I really need to see him.” I beg. I could hear Louis sigh, but I wasn’t going to turn this into a big fuss fight. He started trundling me to Niall’s room and finally adjourned at the door.
“Are you sure Rai? I know how this is hurting you, and I don’t want to make it worse for you.” Louis asks concerned.
I roll my eyes and nod slowly, ready to see Niall once again. Louis props the door open and once again, there was Niall, laying in the bed in that heart taking coma. Louis wheeled me over to the side of the bed and left the room, closing the door behind him. He must have wanted to give me and Niall some personal space. How nice of him, I mean, being kind enough to give me some time to talk to Niall. I close my eyes, trying to think positive thoughts that Niall would come back.
*FLASHBACK*
“Rai what are you doing?” Niall questions me.
I chuckle to myself and keep my grasp of his hand. I was pulling him down the road away from the house because of something important I wanted to show him.
“Just hang on Niall, we’re almost there. Trust me.” I assure Niall.
“I’ve always trusted you.” Niall replies.
I stop running, straining myself to a stop. I turn around, whipping my hair to look at Niall. He stood there looking at me with a confused look on his face.
“Are we here or something? What do you want to show me?” Niall asks.
I continue to look into his eyes, thinking about what he had just said to me. It was hard to process the fact that Niall loved me so much, he never doubted me for a second. I felt bad now, knowing that there were a few times I would doubt Niall, but now I knew he had never doubted me for a single second. Niall was now holding me by the waist and gazing at me, waiting for the answer to his question.
“Sometimes you can be so mysterious Rai.” Niall chuckles.
I giggled a little and held on tightly to him. I never wanted to lose Niall, to anything. I wanted to always be with him, no matter what.
“I-I love yo-u Niall.” I finally stutter out. He smiles at me, and as always his looks took my breath away.
“I love you too Rai. Let’s promise each other that we will never lose each other. To nothing, nothing at all.” Niall expresses.
“You read my mind.” I giggle.
Niall leans in slowly and kisses me on the lips. I never wanted that moment to end. It was PERFECT.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
I look down at Niall once again. His eyes were closed and his chest was slowly moving up and down with the pattern of his breathes. I looked at his heart monitor to see his breathes were slower than they were supposed to be. I slithered out of my wheel chair a bit and propped over Niall, giving him a huge hug with all the energy I had left in me. Louis walked back in and wheeled me back to the room, and left without another word. I laid in bed thinking about Niall and if he was ever going to get better.
Then it hit my head like a bullet. Niall was going to make it. I was NOT going to lose him.
