Once Upon A Time..

-Amanda's POV-

I wake up in bed in front of Niall, his arms strongly wrapped around me. I'm proud of how much his self-esteem has build up. I'm proud that he's a stronger person. I'm proud of how much he's learned from me, learned to defend me, learned to have more fun and get out there even tho he still wears those long sleeve sweater's in every season. Most importantly, he's learned to love again and I'm proud that I've helped him through the way. I smile and turn around.

"Niall.." I whisper.

"Mmmm." He mumbles and tightens his grip on me.

"Wake up." I say as I pull the blanket off us both.

"Mmm, no." He mumbles again.

"Fine, no kisses for you today." I say as I try to get out of his grip. His eyes open wide and he pulls me back to him.

"Okay, okay I'm awake, now give me a morning kiss!" He says. I giggle and get out of his grip.

"Nope." I giggle and walk into the mini kitchen. I grab myself a quick glass of milk. I see I've gotten a missed call from my mom. I check the voice message. Just then Niall walks in.

"Hey I said I wanted-" But I cut him off.

"Shh." I say

"Wha-"

"SHH!" I say as the voice message starts.

"Amanda darling, I know your in Paris with Niall, but this is serious, your father has gotten badly hurt. Please dear, come back when you can! I love you and stay safe, honey!" Mom says. I cover my mouth with my hands.

"No.." I whisper. Niall walks up to me and hugs me.

"Amanda, everything will be okay, I promise you." He says.

"No Niall... They're the only ones I have now. My adopted parents are all I have now because my blood-related family has all passed away or doesn't even bother calling me or inviting me to anything. Niall you don't understand that they're all I have left." I cry into his shirt.

"No, they're not all you have left." Niall whispers.

"What do you mean?" I ask, my voice cracking.

"You are not alone, I am here with you." Niall sings softly. I smile, but still crying.

He carries me over to the couch and sits me down on his lap, he slowly rocks me. I sigh. I can't have him fight my battles anymore. I stand up, gently pushing him away from me.

"Babe, what's wrong?" He asks.

"Niall, I've been thinking. Someone is out there waiting to kill me. They're gonna get me hurt and beaten badly. Once I'm beaten and broken and done, they're gonna turn to you. You're not safe and I-I can't risk that..." I say as I feel more tears start to fall.

"Amanda.. Please don't do this again." He whispers as he wraps his arms around me.

"I'm sorry... but I'll have to do it again." I hug him back. We stand there for a little while, then I wipe my tears and walk away from him.

"I-I love you.." I whisper.

-Niall's POV-

I watch as Amanda walks into the room and closes to door. I sit on the couch and let my tears fall. Why did I let her do that!? She's mine and she should be beside me right now! Great. This trip is a disaster! She's petrified and she broke up with me, her only protection. I wipe my eyes and sigh.

"Well you only need the light when it's burning low." I sings softly, my voice cracking.

"Only miss the sun when it starts to snow." I sing again, tears falling.

"Only know you love her when you let her go." I sing again. As I do, I hear the creek of a door open.

"And you let her go." I sing. At the last part 'let her go' I just loose it and cry into my hands.

I'm so stupid. I let her go. She's in there, packing and not gonna come back. She thinks someone will come after her and kill her. What's gonna happen now? She's totally torn apart and I'm in here crying my life out. I feel someone sit down beside me.

"I'm sorry, Niall." I hear her whisper. I lean on her, crying on her shoulder.

"I-I'm giving up on you.." She whisper's again.

"I can't do this anymore. but I know one day, You'll find someone else. You'll become an amazing father and have a lovely family. I know you can do it. But I just can't.." She whispers.

"I need you." I say, my voice cracking and my head still in my hands.

"I'm giving up on you." She says again. She lifts my head and gives me one last, long, passionate kiss. Then, she stands up and walks back into the room.

"And you let her go." I sing again.
