Breaking All The Rules (Larry Stylinson)

Chapter nineteen

*Louis' POV*
After Harry left, I let the tears flow as they wanted. I know I've fucked up this time and I have no idea how I'm going to fix it. Brittany just had to come over and screw me over. I really hope she doesn't tell anyone about this. If she does... I don't even want to think about that.
I go to my room and crawl under the covers, ready to spend the rest of the night wallowing in my own sorrow. The tears stop unexpectedly and, no matter what I think about, they won't come back. I guess Harry just has me all cried out lately.
Changing my mind about staying in, I get out of bed and pull on some clothes. I might as well go out and do something instead of leaving myself to think about Harry all night. I need to get this problem off my mind so I can think about it later with a clear head.
I tie my shoes and grab my house keys and cell phone. I lock the door behind me and set off on my skateboard to the other side of town. I know exactly where I want to go.
*Harry's POV*
In 20 minutes, I've downed 3 mugs of beer and a shot or two. I'm feeling a lot better than earlier and I've completely forgotten about the holes I put in the wall back at the apartment. The music in the bar is blaring, people are shouting, and there are half dressed girls everywhere. I have no idea what time it is but I'm sure I'm going to be here for a while.
The guys are all shouting different things at each other and at the girls around the bar. Drinks keep flowing and the table is cluttered with empty pitchers.
"Hey, Styles. Why don't you go find yourself a girl?" Marcus says when I don't contribute to the conversation.
"I don't really do girls. Bar girls, I mean," I say, catching myself on my near mistake.
"They're not that bad," he tells me. I'm glad he didn't catch my slip up or I could be in a world of trouble right now.
"I'm good," I tell him.
"Nah, you gotta have some fun," Jason chimes in.
"I'm not good at getting girls," I say. It's not totally a lie...
"Then we'll help you," Marcus says.
Before I can protest any more, Marcus and Jason have pulled me out of my seat and out to the middle of the bar where girls are dancing to the music. Some of them are very pretty, I'll admit, but I can't imagine myself being with one of them.
"How about her?" Jason asks, pointing to a girl with dark hair.
"No, I don't think so," Marcus replies. "Her?"
"No, not her," Jason answers. They go back and forth like this for a few minutes before deciding on a girl. They give me no choice whatsoever in which girl I'm supposed to talk to, either.
They lead me over to a pretty girl with brown hair down to the middle of her back. She had on a purple dress down to the middle of her thighs and she actually looked really good.
"Excuse me," Jason says when we get close enough. The girl turns around and I can see her face full on. She's wearing make up but not too much and she has the straightest, whitest teeth I've ever seen.
"Yes?"
"We were wondering if you're single," Marcus says.
"You all were wondering?" She asks with a smile.
"Well, this guy," Jason says, pointing to me.
Her eyes find me for the first time and I find myself becoming self-conscious. My hand is all busted up and my nose is still bruised and I know that can't be very attractive.
"Were you in a fight?" She asks, surprise evident on her face.
"Yes," Marcus answers for me.
"That's so hot," she swoons. I definitely was not expecting that response.
"Yeah, well, I guess that's what happens when people fuck with me," I say. It was a stupid thing to say but I'm at a sudden loss for words.
She steps a little closer and holds her hand out to grab mine. I wince as she picks it up and looks at the bruises and the out-of-place finger.
"You must hit really hard," she says.
"A little."
"That's amazing."
She looks at my hand a little more before letting it go. She turns her attention to my face, examining my nose, probably.
"We'll leave you two alone," Jason says, pulling Marcus away.
"I'm Jenny," she says, holding her hand out.
I shake her hand with my uninjured one. "Harry."
"Nice to meet you, Harry. Do you come here a lot? I've never seen you before."
"No, only on nights like this, when I need to get away from everything. Maybe I should come more often, though, so we can get to know each other better." I feel myself hitting on Jenny but I can't help it. She's too beautiful to be normal with, despite my raging homosexuality.
"Or we could just get to know each other now," she says in a low voice, stepping closer to me and putting her hand on my arm.
I feel a chill run down my spine and Louis immediately comes to mind. Why does Louis get to have all the fun? Maybe I should see what I'm missing with girls.
"Okay," I manage. There's a lump in my throat I can't seem to get rid of.
"My place is just down the street, want to get out of here?"
"Sure."
She takes my hand again and leads me out of the bar. Just before I step out of the door, I look back and see Jason and Marcus giving me a thumbs up.
*Louis' POV*
I'm on my skateboard for what seems like years before I finally get to the place I want to be. McGilligan's bar. It's a long way from my house compared to other bars but they have the best drinks and the best atmosphere. And there's less of a chance of running into my gang.
I hop off my skateboard and kick it up to my hand. I walk inside and loud music and people talking meet my ears immediately. I walk over to the bar and have a seat at one of the stools and order a beer.
As I'm waiting for my drink, I look around the bar to see if I know anyone. The first people I see make me realize what a mistake coming to this side of town was. The Surenos are all seated at a table in the back of the bar, each of them clearly fucked up. I count them up and realize three are missing: Harry, Jason, and Jason's sidekick.
My eyes scan the rest of the bar in search of them but I have no luck finding them. When I look back to the Surenos' table, Jason and his sidekick are there, but I have a feeling Harry is here somewhere.
I look around the bar again and this time I find him. Talking to a girl. Flirting. With a girl.
The bartender slides me my beer and I drink it all nearly immediately and ask for another. It's obvious the bartender wants to know what my problem is but he keeps quiet and I'm thankful.
The girl is getting closer to Harry and I don't like it one bit. Before I know it, the girl is leading Harry out of the bar and I'm ordering my third beer of the night.
