New Sister

I really enjoyed staying with Harry´s family. They were all so kind to me. His friends too. But at the same time, I felt extremely lonely. I knew it didn´t make sense, but I guess I just missed my father. It was the main reason I was dragging New Year’s Eve. At moments like this, it was difficult for me to accept that he was really gone. I laid on the couch, watching the Blacklist, when Gemma entered the room. “Hey,” she said cheerful. “Hey.” “So, what’s up?” I shrugged. “Nothing really. Just thinking about what happened.” “That’s quite a lot. More than most people can say.” I sighed. “I know. And I keep thinking that it is all my fault. I mean, in some sense it is. Because if I’d never hooked up with that idiot, I’d be with Davy and Laurens right now and he and Bastiaen would be playing with fire works at the beach and we’d sit there and tell them to keep all their fingers and watch Davy’s brothers and sisters.” And a lot more. “It would be, if you’d known he was that crazy. But look at it from the positive side: because of all this crap, you met my little brother. And I don’t know how much that means to you, I can’t read minds, thank god, but for him… I’ve never seen him so happy with someone.” “It’s something. But how’s your love life? It can’t be as messed up as mine.” Gemma flushed. “Ooow, does he know it yet?” I laughed. “Ehm, let’s put it this way… Everybody thinks we should be together except the two of us.” “Aaaaw, you’re not interested or you just don’t want to admit they’re right.” “I’m not sure. I just met him like, four months ago. But he is coming over tomorrow, so then you can tell me what you think. Since you are not desperate to get me a boyfriend.” “Why so sure I’m not?” “Ow no, you’re not turning against me on this,” she yells dramatically. “Or else?” “Or else… you know, you’re not supposed to ask that…”

“Wakeupwakeupwakeupwakeupwakeup!!!!” Gemma sings hyperactive. “How about no.” I pull the blanket over my head and turn around. Sort of. “How about yes. Come on. Our friends are here in an hour. And Mila is coming too and I need to make you look decent before…” “Okay, help me here.” I sighed. Gemma helped me to get dressed and then put me in a chair to play hair dresser. She curled the under layer of my hair and braided the top layer of my hair. It reminded me why I never used the curling iron that laid in some box somewhere. “Are you done yet?” I asked. “Almost.” I played with my nails while waiting. “Okay, look.” She turns the chair around and I look surprised. I never wore a lot of make-up, so I hardly recognized myself. The bell rings. “Gemma, it’s for you!” Anne yelled. “Can you tell Harry to get his ass over here and help Liz?” she yelled back. About a minute later, I hear Harry’s footsteps on the stairs. “Wow, you look gorgeous honey,” he said surprised. Harry pulled me on my feet and holds my waist tightly. “What are you doing?” I asked scarred. I already saw myself on the floor. “Relax baby, I won’t let you fall.” He kissed me lightly before he lifted me up. He brings me down and freezes for a moment at the doorstep. “What is he doing here?” he asked while he took a step back. I look up and my eyes widened.

Wow, I saw it's been a month since I updated and I AM SO FREAKING SORRY!!! I planned to updat after Germany, but, well, there were so many people that wanted so much and well, that's about it. I finally have time to breath and sleep again (and to finish watching this is us with a friend. Finally!!!!)

And the weirdest thing happened today: We have a new co-worker and... it is my best friend from primary school. I haven't talked to her in 7/8 years... It was very weird, but at the same time we talked like we saw each other yesterday...
