New Sister
Not well considered
I had absolutely no plan. I just snuck out of the backdoor. I was lucky that nobody else was home. I had no clue where they were, but I didn’t care. I had a random, strong desire to see Davina now. Without thinking, I went to the train station and got on the train to London. Halfway there, I took my phone out and had to stop myself from laughing. 21 missed calls from Lottie and Johannah. In half an hour. Damn. Well, I decided to let them at least know that I was still alive.
Hey, won’t be home for dinner. I’m with Alysha x
Small lie, but if I’d say that, they wouldn’t bother for the upcoming hours. And it was not something impossible. Alysha was a really sweet and funny girl. I seriously wonder why on earth she hangs out with Lotte and Melissa. I took my iPod and started reading TMI, since I still wanted to finish it and I finally had time.
In London I had to choose between a train to Dover, so I could go to Davina, or a train to Brighton, so I could go to Mila. After a lot of mental arguing, I choose Dover. I decided that I could take one to Brighton on my way back. In the meanwhile my phone rang again. I felt safe enough, far away enough, to answer it. “Hey.” “Hey, when will you be home?” Lotte asked. I peeked at my watch. It was 8PM already. “I don’t know… We’re working on a project for… English.” I tried not to make it sound like a question, but it was tempting. “Really? Because I seem to recall that you do that with Jayden. And then something else: I called Alysha and guess what? You’re not there.” I was glad that she couldn’t see me, because an involuntary smile appeared. “Congrats Sherlock.” Somebody else took the phone. “Elizabeth, where are you?” Oops, Mark sounded pretty pissed. “Ehm…” No answer was better than trying to make something up, so I ended the call.
I liked the boat trip. I smiled when I thought about the last time I’d been on this ferry. It was Christmas two years ago and it stormed that night. It was the middle of the freaking night, but that meant that we’d be early in Zealand. My dad became really sick and I skipped all around the boat, which drove a lot of people crazy, falling over every five, six feet. (A/N that is freaking funny, you should try ^^). The sea was calm this night, so I went outside, to the top deck. It was still chilly and I was glad I’d taken a scarf with me. I started to feel really tired by the time we docked. I took a train to Brugge, where I’d take a train to Middelburg. If everything went well, I’d end up in Middelburg around 7AM. Then I’d call Davina and hope the best. I had no clue what I was going to do when I was there. Davina still had to go to school, but I’d figure it out. If I got really bored I could still go to all the museums in Zealand. It was a little bit too chilly for the beach, understatement, but it was still a beautiful place. If I got really bored, I’d go to Amsterdam, as my last resource, because I didn’t really like that city. It just has this atmosphere that I don’t like for some random reason. Well, at least for now, bye England, I will not miss you.
