New Sister
Nightmare
My voice shook as I spoke the words. I didn’t dare to look up, afraid to see his reaction. “Tyson, it’s over.” He laughed. “Don’t joke like that silly little girl.” He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my head. “I am serious.” He wrapped his arms tighter around me. “Ty, let go, you’re hurting me!” “You are not leaving me,” he whispered in his creepy voice. This was exactly why I wanted to break up with him. He is too possessive. He gets jealous when I even look to someone else. He lifted me up and dragged me to his bedroom. “Let me go!” I yelled with tears in my eyes. Why wasn’t I such a bitch that breaks up by means of a freaking text or app? No, I had to tell him, while I knew he was creepy as hell and would freak out. But I did not expect this. I struggled to free myself, but damn, I always forgot how strong he actually was. He threw me on the floor and hit my head. “You are not leaving this house, you hear me. Me and you against the world.”
I woke up, screaming. I felt a hand on my arm and heard a soft voice trying to calm me. It was Daisy. “What’s wrong Liz? she asked. “Nothing.” “But you were crying and screaming in your sleep. Don’t tell me that nothing is wrong.” Smart little nine-years-old kid. “I just had a nightmare, nothing to worry about.” Not the nightmare itself. The person that caused it? Yeah, definitely something to worry about. “Can I sleep with you?” Daisy asked. Right at that moment Johannah ran into my room. “Are you okay?” she asked. I nodded. “Just a nightmare.” She stroke my hair for a moment. “Do you want anything to drink or…” “To sleep again.” “Okay, Daisy, come on.” “Mom, can I sleep with Liz?” Johannah looked at me and I nodded. “Well, okay, but remember, you have to get up early.” She nodded and crawled under my blankets. “Good night girls.” Daisy laid very close to me. She was adorable. But, I couldn’t sleep again. Around seven, Daisy had to get up. I hugged her before she left and then turned around. My whole body screamed for sleep, but I didn’t dare to.
The door of my room opened, but I did not respond. I had no clue what time it was, but I had absolutely no desire to get up. I just wanted to lay here and sob. I heard a paper rustle. “Put that down,” I said. I was kind of shocked how raw my voice sounded. “Liz…” Louis started. “You have nothing…” “He followed me out here. I have a hell lot to be afraid of!”
