I followed the ambulance as it took Alex away. His blood was still caked all over my shirt but I could give less a damn about it.
I just felt so mad. At the man who hit him. At me. At him. The guy saw Alex and drove away quicker than you can say “screw you”. Why was I so stupid? Walking across the streets with my head down. And Alex was just as stupid. Why did he save me? Why didn’t he just let me die? Let the car crash into me so I don’t have to suffer like this right now.
My tears fell down again. My eyes hurt from crying all day. I’ll probably spend my whole life regretting this moment. I should have walked quicker across the street. He should have stayed longer. He should have ran slower. I should have just ram into the car and kill myself.
I tried not to think about it as I followed the ambulance but I couldn’t help it. Alex… Alex is like this right now because of me. I just want to slap myself right now. Why didn’t I just deal with the fact that Alex is Liam? The thing I was crying about a moment ago seems so stupid right now.
I’m so worthless, I thought to myself. I hurt Liam and I hurt Alex. I didn’t deserve any of them. But somehow, I buried my face in my hands, those idiots threw away their lives just to save me.
I suddenly thought of something that froze me. What if… Alex is dead?
