I brushed my short hair and smiled confidently in the mirror. That’s strange, I was pretty sure I had long hair…
“You can do it Liam!” I said to myself. Wait… what?
I looked down and saw the body of Liam Payne. His checkered shirt and khaki pants. It’s almost like I was Liam. And Liam was me.
I pushed up my glasses and breathed in deeply. “Today is the day when everything will change!” I looked in the mirror and smiled Liam’s smile.
On the bus, the usual group of bullies… who used to be my friends made fun of him.
“Hey butt face” Sam snickered “who you takin’ to the prom? Oh right, nobody wants to go with a loser like you!” The whole bus laughed ((Omg I feel so bad for saying this))
For a second I felt Liam’s pain. As if the laughter turned into hands, crushing my heart. It hurt so bad. I wanted to explode, but Liam held it in. The painful feeling was suddenly replaced by pride. It made me smile.
“I’m gonna take Colen,” I heard myself say.
“Colen Holik?” Sam laughed, “in your dreams! She’ll never go with a nerd like you!” I heard chuckles and wondered if Alex was there laughing with them.
In middle school I was fairly popular. I was voted for the nicest smile. But I know that no one really liked me for who I was. I went to a different high school then everyone else and suddenly we lost contact. It’s like I never existed in their lives. Some great friends I had. My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by Liam’s.
Colen is beautiful, I believe that she can accept me for who I am!
Suddenly the scene changes and I was grinning widely. I looked to my right and saw… Me… Colen. I hear Liam say “I’m so excited about tonight! Thank you for coming!” He really was excited. The warm feeling of join spreads through me like drops of honey.
I saw myself smile uneasily and mumbling something quickly.
“Not like I really want to.” I heard it nice and clear. The happy feelings disappeared in a second and I knew Liam had heard it too. But he still smiled anyways.
Suddenly, I came to my senses.
STOP IT!!! I screamed, MAKE IT STOP! I knew what would happen next and I didn’t want to see it again.
I woke up crying.
I had to admit, Liam was the first person to like me for who I really am. And I had carelessly pushed away his feelings because I was a scardy cat.
