I Want to be Loved By You

10

All day I had been walking back and forth, from table to table, the kitchen to tables, a bathroom break here and there, but not a moment passed when Louis Tomlinson was not on my mind. It was almost like a broken record, the night was playing over and over again in my mind. Louis Tomlinson. Louis Tomlinson of One Direction had taken me out last night. My life had been thrust into this crazy fantasy world that people dream of. I can't decide whether this is a good thing or not, but I sure as hell am going to enjoy it.

I felt my phone buzz in my pocket, and saw that Louis had texted me. My heart fluttered, and was already typing back, but I quickly stopped. I sighed and placed the phone back where it was supposed to be. Lou would just have to wait. Right now I had to work.

I walked over to my tables, and took orders, delivered food, you know, the normal waitress job. But not without a few more texts from Louis. Each time gave me butterflies, and each time made me want to stop working all together a little more, but I couldn't.

At the fifth buzz in the past twenty seconds, I finally just turned off my phone. I'll call him later.

Later, I decided to switch shifts with Lily, and worked the front as a hostess. It was a boring job, to just wait around for people. And when there were people, busy or not, there was always that one rude, and impatient woman. It's always a woman. She acts as if she doesn't have the time to sit around and wait for a table, and she blames the workers for being 'lazy' when we're busy caring for others. Or there's the mother who doesn't know how to raise kids, and the children run around the place, screaming, bumping into things, and who knows what else. And all the while, she sits on her phone oblivious to it all. I still can't decide which one is worse.

I look down at my phone, and check the time. 10:30. I sigh.Only one more hour, Maci. you can do this.

Lost in my thoughts, I hardly noticed when a man walked into the building. I was only when he cleared his throat that I looked up, startled.

He was wearing a beanie, a thick black coat, dark wash skinny jeans, a white v-neck that fit his toned chest perfectly, and a scarf that covered his entire neck up to his nose.

"Oh, I'm sorry, sir. Can I get you a table?"

He chuckled and said, "No, no, no. That won't be necessary. I just came to speak with you."

I looked at him confused, and once again was answered with a chuckle. "I'm sorry?" I said to the stranger.

"What? Forget me already, love?"

I looked more closely at the mystery person this time, and was almost ready to give in and just ask him who he was, but his shining blue eyes pierced me, and I knew of only one person with eyes like that.

"Louis?"I hissed.

"The one and only! I almost was beginning to believe you really didn't know me.." Charming chuckled dryly.

I ignored it.

"What are you doing here?!"

"Well, you were ignoring my calls-"

"Well Iamworking," I interrupted, flustered and frustrated, but he just continued.

"So I just decided to come see you!" He looked proudly at me.

I tried so hard to be angry with him, but he just had a way with me. No guy has ever made feel so powerless, but so strong at the same time. With my whole being, I really do not want to like this guy. Louis annoyed the crap out of me because he was so freaking stubborn, and he was probably bipolar! I mean, one minute he hates my guts and can't stand to be around me, and the next he wants to know everything about me, and misses me so much to a point where he comes to my work. Who does that? But all the same, I was still drawn to him. From the first time I saw him, his whole persona had fascinated me. And I couldn't stay away.

I smiled despite myself, but spoke quietly, "I don't get off for another two hours. It'll be late by then. Maybe we should just catch up tomorrow. I don't have to work until seven that night." I didn't trust myself enough to raise my voice above a whisper.

Louis didn't seem to notice my awkwardness. "Nah, I think I'll stick around here." And he plopped down on a nearby couch in the waiting area.

I knew there was no point in arguing with him, it'd go nowhere, so I walked back to my stand and waited patiently for the next customer to make the time go by faster.

..........

It's almost time for me to clock out, and the butterflies are flittering faster and faster with each second. Our silence has been comfortable, but painful. He watches me escort late night diners, and I watch him twidle his thumbs, or play on his phone, or sometimes, I watch him studying me. His face his filled with wonder, and curiosity. It sometimes made me fidget myself, but I distracted myself with work.

When it was finally time for us to go, I hurriedly walked to the back to get my things, so I could go back out to see the famous boy waiting for me.

Yeah. Unfortunately, the last time I heard from Miss M was six days ago. And it was very hurried and not as careful as she usually types. I'm not sure how long it's going to be, sadly. But, here we are, waiting till the end
