I'm From One Direction Damn It!
Chpt 23: Summertime Coma
My body eventually stopped crying, like I was all out of tears as I didn’t budge an inch. I stood there for hours, staring through the window as the doctors worked on Harry’s small body, trying to figure out how to help him, Liam’s words echoing harshly through my mind, “I will kill you.”
The doctors all cleared out at once, coming out the door to talk to the guys, “Will he be okay?” I could hear Louis’s concerned voice.
“We don’t know to be precise what is going on with your little friend. The only thing we can think of right now is that he is in a self induced coma.”
“Self induced?” I perked up, listening to Liam’s words, whatever was going on I needed to hear how mad he was.
“Yes, he forced his own body into a coma, some sort of trauma put him there, and he won’t wake up until he wants to wake up.”
“How the hell does that work? We need him awake now!” Liam screamed out in frustration. I cringed as his voice echoed down the hall to me.
“All we can do right now is do more tests, it isn’t a for sure thing, he could wake up whenever, but we need to do several more tests to see if his body is okay.”
“No.” Liam stamped down.
“Excuse me?” one of the doctors sounded startled.
“We’re taking him home with us right now!”
“Liam!” Zayn tried to calm him down.
“Zayn not now, you know we won’t get anywhere with him here, he needs to come home, we’ll get the doctors at home to fix him.”
I decided to move at that moment, I turned to the group, noticing the doctor’s hesitant gazes, they didn’t trust the guys. They brought in an unknown child, who was hurt severally, with no documentations on him, of course the doctors would be skeptical with them.
I took in a deep breath and made my way to the group, “Excuse me sir.”
Liam glared at me as I tried to talk with the head doctor, “You do not belong here June.”
“Liam, shut up!” Niall screamed out, as the whole group broke out in anger.
“Shut the fuck up! Let me speak damn it!” I screamed at the top of my lungs. The group became quiet as everyone else in the hospital stared at us.
“Sir.” I turned towards the head doctor once again, he nodded for me to continue, “You see this child is mine.” I decided to play innocent, and stared at my feet as if I was ashamed of myself, “He is the child of one of the boys in this band. I’m sure you know they are famous, I didn’t tell the father, that is why he isn’t here, but I did tell the rest of them. That’s why they don’t approve of me here, they don’t like me, they are afraid I will ruin their band mates life, so they made me promise I would never tell him. So that’s why he isn’t registered in the computers here or in the UK, I didn’t want to ruin his reputation, I did…” I paused as the words didn’t want to come out.
“I loved him.” I finally whispered out. I never once said I love you to any guy in the world, and here I was saying I loved Harry Styles, it felt too weird for me.
“You need to get your kid registered immediately, he is considered illegal.” The doctor calmed down, but some still had hesitant gazes.
“Can I see my kid?” I looked up at him sadly.
He nodded, as he opened the door, “Just be careful to not move him around, we still need to take tests.”
I walked in, the guys looking at me in amazement, all except Liam, who I knew didn’t want me to be anywhere near Harry.
Harry looked calm and quiet, laying there on that uncomfortable hospital bed, like he was never hurt, or came out of a crash. It just appeared like he went back in time, and was sleeping peacefully as a child again.
I walked quietly over to his bedside, and sat down. His chest going up and down to his regular breathing, I placed my hand softly on his small one, still cold to the touch, “I’m sorry Harry.” I whispered, “You should have never agreed to take me home. You should had been your usual self and let me not go, forced yourself on me or something.”
“He wouldn’t do that that was not his thing.”
I turned quickly to notice Liam leaning against the wall, arms crossed, the other three no where in sight, “Wh-where’s everyone else?”
“They decided to go back to the hotel; they had enough stress for a lifetime. They’re going to see if we can bring Harry back home somehow, and get the doctors form the UK to help him. He needs to be back on his land.” He calmly sat on the other side of Harry, staring at his sleeping face, “They also need to think of how we are going to explain this to the public.”
It made me nervous how quiet he got at that last statement, “What do you mean to explain to the public?”
He didn’t bother looking at me as he spoke even quieter, “Why we will be breaking up and why Harry disappeared.”
I was confused, “What do you mean?”
He glared at me for that this time, “For this June, for you taking Harry out and almost drowning him, for him to turn into a permanent child and not wake up! We only have a few more days until the next concert and he is not waking up anytime soon!”
I cringed away from him, “I’m sorry.”
He shook his head at me, as he looked at the ceiling, I happened to witness tears falling down his face, as he covered his eyes and spoke calmly again, “There’s no way a simple sorry could fix this. Harry is gone, One Direction is dead, five peoples dreams destroyed, and one will never know his dream was destroyed.”
I turned away from his sad face, guilt filling my cold heart, “You don’t know if any of that will happen.”
“But I do.” He watched me from the corner of his eyes, “Did you know it was his favorite thing to do?”
“Harry loved singing more than the rest of us and that’s a huge statement because we all love singing. He sang to his girlfriends, he sang to us, he sang for his fans, he sang for his mum, he sang for peoples sadness, he sang for their love, he sang for everything, and he specially sang for himself. You could always tell his mood because of the way he sang. Just because he was labeled as a huge flirt and slept with hundreds of girls never meant it actually happened. He was actually really hurt because of that rumor. He is young and fragile, and no one saw that side of him, but now his life is gone, a little glimmer of fun for him.”
I slammed my fists down on the hospital bed, making Liam jump, “Quit saying he is gone like he is actually dead! He is here, in front of us, alive and breathing!” I screamed pointing down at Harry’s body that didn’t move an inch from all the sound.
Liam stood up at that, anger contorting his handsome face, “He is dead! Look at him June! Look what you did to this body; he can’t live the life he wanted! That’s being dead!”
“He is not dead! He can wake up any moment from now!” I screamed back.
“He is dead! He refuses to wake up! You said something that caused that crash didn’t you! That’s why he isn’t waking up, it is your entire fault June!”
“Yes it was my fault! My entire fault Liam! You are always right, except for the fact that he isn’t dead! He will wake up!”
“No he won’t! Look at him, just look!” he screamed as the tears came down his face. I lowered my eyes, feeling like I shouldn’t see this from him, “You took his life away, you took away everything that made him Harry, you took my best friend away.”
I sucked in a deep breath from that, as he stood there, shaking, crying away the anger and sadness that this all caused him. I placed my hand gently on his arm, he didn’t even bother moving away from me, “He’ll wake up Liam, I’ll make sure he does, One Direction won’t die, and neither will your friends dreams.”
He peered down at my face, whispering, “I hate you, I will always hate you.”
“I know.” I whispered back, as he bent down and kissed me. I was shocked at first, but all the anger flying around didn’t surprise me where it led. Here I was in a hospital, Harry in a coma, and I was kissing the member in One direction that I always had a crush on. Liam Payne was kissing me.
