I'm No Superhero

Chapter Six.

“Har-eh, I don’t know if you heard Katy, but she invited me to a party and said I could bring a guest.”
“I didn’t…” I lied, taking a bite of my lunch, a chicken salad.
“I was wondering…if you would like to go with me…as a plus one?”
“Um…uh, I mean…”
“If you don’t want to, that’s fine…I just thought that…we might…you know, go and…go and have fun.”
“I just…I…yea, I’ll go with you.” She shifted her gaze and looked at her food.
“I’m not that hungry anymore.”
“You haven’t eaten since last night.”
“No…I ate this morning.”
“Jenna, from the second I got here, I saw how skinny you were. You’re bone right now. Why aren’t you eating?”
“I am eating.”
“Jenna, if Niall was here, or Ed, would you lie to them?”
“I’m not skinny anyway,” She stood up and threw away her barely touched food.
“Jenna!” I threw away my half eaten food and followed her to the parking lot.
“Jenna, come on.”
“I have to get back to the studio, I’ll take you to your hotel if you want.” I took the keys from her hand and she turned to me.
“Give me my fucking keys, Har-eh.”
“You are not the same girl from Birmingham I met less than a month ago.”
“I’m sorry, we can’t all be superstars who never let fame get to them.”
“Are you still having a Niall Day tonight?” I asked. My head fell.
She gasped. “I forgot…”
“Just go hang out with Niall after. I’ll walk back.” I threw her keys to her and left.
“Har-eh, I’m sorry…” I shoved my hands in my pockets and kept walking.

By the time I made it back to the hotel, it was nearing dark and I slammed the door. I saw Louis jump and turn around.
“Mate, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“I’m not stupid.”
“And I’m not lying.” I hissed.
“Fine, whatever.” He picked up his magazine again. “I’ll just fucking ask Niall.”
“Do. Whatever you want.”
“I think I fucking will.” I threw myself on my bed and picked up my iPod. I all but blasted the music of All Time Low and many other bands through my ears to make myself fall asleep.

A few days passed and Katy had texted me more information about the party that I had been invited to. She took to reassuring Jenna that I would still go; even though we’d gotten into a fight. That best friends are always best friends.
So fixing my tie, I looked at myself in the mirror. My blazer was dark and looked nice with the jeans I had on. Since I didn’t feel like trying to deal with dress pants tonight.
“Where are you going?”
“I’m going to a party with Jenna.”
“I thought you two were fighting.”
“That doesn’t mean that I can’t do something nice for her.” I looked at Louis through the mirror.
“I just know how you are about being mad. Especially at women.”
“Jenna is not Caroline and she won’t be treated like Caroline. Drop it and at least tell me I look okay.”
“You look good, Harold. I don’t know why you’re worrying.”
“Because she’s mad at me, or I’m mad at her, I don’t know what’s going on.” I fell on the couch.
“Mate, your both mad at each other but you both know you can’t be mad at each other. So suck it up, go pick her up, and have a good time tonight.” Louis stood over me, not to make me feel small, but he did.
“Alright.”
“Good, it’s almost seven.”
What!?” He shoved me from the room.
I quickly plugged my iPod into the Range Rover I was driving and drove quickly to Jenna’s flat/hotel. I wandered up to her room and knocked softly.
“Hold on!” I heard a shuffle and knew she didn’t have her shoes on yet.
“He-Har-eh….”
“Hey…you look beautiful.”
“I-I didn’t think you’d still come.”
“I owed it to you.” She looked down at her dress.
“Thank you…come in. I have to find my shoes.”
“Find them?”
“For the record. I don’t wear shoes unless I’m driving or going to, like, the store.”
“I can tell…what do they look like?”
“They’re silver…one!” She presented it.
“The other is right here.” I picked it up from the couch and she smiled at me.
“Thank you.” She put her hand on my shoulder to put them on and once she was steady, she stood up.
“Look, I’m almost as tall as you.” I chuckled.
“Nearly my height. Come on, love.” She took my hand after gathering her clutch and she followed me to my Rover.
“When did you get a Rover?”
“It’s actually what Paul drives, but he let me use it tonight.” I smiled as I opened her door and let her in. I closed it and went to my side.
The whole ride to the party, she played with my iPod, so the car was filled with the sounds of games she’d downloaded, like Pet Shop Story, instead of music. We spoke quietly and she would giggle at pointless jokes.
“We’re here, love.” She looked up from her game and looked around. She forced herself to sit up correctly and set the iPod down. I gave the keys to the valet parker and I got out to open Jenna’s door. But another valet had beaten me to it. I hid my anger and disappointment until she took my arm.
“Tosser.”
“Aw, poor Harry.” She kissed my nose and I led her into the party.
“Harry! Jenna! You made it!” Katy hugged us and then introduced us to her date and boyfriend John.
“We’ve met before, Harry Styles, right?”
“Yea, how’s it going, mate?”
“Good, good.” The girls dashed off for drinks.
“She’s a catch, your girlfriend.”
“She’s not my girlfriend. We’re just good friends.” He laughed.
“That’s how me and Katy started, too. Now look at us.” He watched Katy and Jenna play fight over a drink. “Don’t try and deny the feelings you have for her because she doesn’t see them yet.” He took a drink of his beer.
“Question.” I nodded. “Have you kissed her?”
“Well…yea.”
“Then neither of you have feelings to hide.”
“It’s not that easy, John. I’m in London now recording and she’s over here writing.”
“And? I’m supposed to be in Europe right now touring. But I flew over here to see her and come to her party.”
“She doesn’t have that money.”
“You do, don’t you?” I watched her.
“So many people would hate her.”
“People hate Katy on a daily basis because she sings what she feels. People don’t really know Jenna yet.”
“I know. I don’t want them to know her. She’s like…she’s like this glimmer of my old life. I don’t want to share her with them.”
“Then you’re admitting you have feelings for her.”
“I don’t know what I have for her.”
“Then play on those.”
“Here!” I looked to Jenna and she held out a Stella to me. “Niall said you liked them. Well…he said it’s the only thing you drink when you’re out with the boys.”
“Leave it to the Irishmen.” I chuckled. “Thank you, Jenna.” She giggled as I pulled her to my side and took a drink of hers. “What’s that?”
“Brandy and wine. She’s mad, Harry.” Katy joked. Jenna stuck her tongue out at Katy and took another drink.
For the first whole part of the night, Jenna and I stayed near John and Katy. Jenna was gossiping about some girls with Katy and John just gave me looks that read I should show my feelings. What feelings I had.
“Oh! Come on! Come dance with me!”
“You’re stumbling around, Jenna, why don’t we go home?”
“No, no! Just come dance with me! Please, please!” She begged me and begged me.
“Look, look! John and Katy-are dancing! Why don’t you wanna dance with me?” She pouted.
“Okay, okay. I’ll dance with you. But only one song, and then we leave.”
Damn was I fooling myself.
The second we hit the floor, we mimicked everyone on the floor. We were grinding hard and Jenna wasn’t going to let me go for the next song. I wasn’t going to let her go. She seemed perfectly sober. I seemed perfectly drunk.
She ground her arse harder into my crotch and I groaned into her ear. She giggled and hooked her arm around my neck and kissed my cheek. The song was nearly inaudible but the bass was not. She moved her hips to the beat of the song and it all made my dick harder if possible. It wouldn’t be the first time she’s made me this turned on. It probably wouldn’t be the last either.
“You seem to have a magical touch.” I muttered into her ear, barely loud enough for her to hear.
“Ask your dick. I think I do.” She slurred back. “Are you going to take me home tonight, Har-eh?”
“I’ll always take you home, Jenna.” I told her, wrapping an arm across the front of her shoulders.
“Then please take me home…” I helped me from the floor and took her phone and sent a text to Katy saying we’d left. I helped her to my Rover and drove back to her place. There was no way I was taking her to my hotel. I helped her through the back to her suite.
There I did nearly the same thing I did last time we went out. I pulled off her heels, struggled to find her clothes, and helped her get dressed for bed.
“Don’t leave me here, Har-eh. I need you…” I wasn’t going to leave her in the first place, but now I wasn’t going to leave her room. I pulled off my shoes, pants, shirts and slowly crawled into the bed beside her. She whimpered and I pulled her close to me. She buried her head in my chest as well as she could and sighed. “I love you, Har-eh.”
