A week later, Sam sat with the network executives, explaining her idea for the new show. The only issue they had with the idea was that she still hadn't come up with a name for it. They wanted to call it ,"Another Direction " but to Sam it just seemed cheesy. She wanted to call it "Inside Our World."
After a tense 45 minutes, the decided on "Inside One Direction". Now Sam had to get the guys in front of the cameras to announce the contest. They were in hair and make-up right now and would be out in just a few minutes. 5 minutes until their segment went world wide. After all the work she put into this, she just hoped it didn't blow up in her face.
Liam, Zayn,Niall,Louis and Harry were soon sitting on the stage with huge smiles across their faces.
"Hi, we're One Direction!", they yelled in unison
They made the announcement and explained the rules making sure to say valid identification was needed as well as a criminal background check and fingerprints. Now all they had to do was sit back and wait for someone they liked to enter. They thanked the stunned interviewer and left the stage,heading straight to the restrooms to wash that damn make-up off.
Kat hung up the phone with her mom and sat back holding her head. These days, the conversations with her had just gotten worse. Kat's father had stage 3 inoperable lung cancer and little insurance. Her mom said they just took out another mortgage on the house to pay his bills. Kat was wracking her brain trying to figure out a way to help them. She threw herself on the couch and decided to watch the news just to give her screaming brain a distraction.
An entertainment news show was on with 5 familiar faces. Oh, those 5 idiots from One Direction. Kat used to listen to them years ago. She turned up the volume and listened. Maybe they were making a comeback or something.
"So basically,it's a contest to have One Direction'a child and possibly win 2 million dollars.",Liam Payne said into the camera.
"So,if you want to try out and enter,send a short video to any of our Twitter accounts or Samantha Kincaid,our manager.",Louis this time.
"The lucky winner also gets to live with us for 9 months and have our interaction shown on live television" ,Harry smiled and waved into the camera.
Kat sat forward with her mouth hanging open. Did she just have the answer to her dilemma?Could she help her dad this way? The better question is, would they accept her.
Kat ran into the bathroom and looked herself over in the mirror. Her face was fine, just small bags under her eyes. Nothing a little sleep wouldn't take care of. She didn't wear make-up but wondered if she should for this. No, if she remembered right, the guys liked a natural girl. Kat lifted her shirt to look at her slightly round stomach and wondered if she should do that 48 hour crash diet before she made her video. The 10 extra pounds she felt like she carried could go.On the other hand, they did make her look healthier. She didn't want to look like she had an eating disorder.
Kat decided that if she was going to do this, she better do it now before she lost her nerve all together. She fixed her hair, put on some chap-stick to make her lips shiny and made her video. Taking a deep breath she sent it to One Direction's Twitter wondering if they would even see it.
~2 weeks later~
"We've gone through loads of these videos and none of these girls call out to me and some of them look 11 maybe 12 at the most.",Louis whined.
"Mission Fucking Impossible", Zayn muttered.
"Hey guys, look at this one.",Niall said with a mouth full of food.
It was Kat's entry video. They all looked at each other and nodded. They had found their girl at last. At least they all agreed on this one.
"Looks like a nice girl that we can get along with. Just hope she's not a rabid fan.", Liam said thoughtfully.
Harry played the video again and licked his lips,"Very doable,too."
Louis slapped Harry across the back of the head,"Remember, we want the chick to leave at the end,not fall madly in love with you and try to stay. "
"Please,I'm the master. No feelings,just sex. That's always been my code."
