You're Brighter Than The Brightest Star
Chapter One
Hey I'm Alexa Jones. The thing that I have always dreamed of since I was 13 was to meet the perfect guy. All these years in high school I have been searching for the 'one' but I just haven't found him yet. My goal is to have him by the end of senior year.
It's May 1st, my birthday and I can't wait to get to school and see all of my friends, they say they have a big birthday surprise for me. My older sister Alissa already gave me a big birthday hug this morning before I had barely got out of bed. She spends way too much time with me I swear she needs to get a life of her own.
As I walk to the bus stop I notice one of my best guys friends Harry already there.
"Hey birthday girl!" He greets.
"Hey Haz!" I reply "Do you know anything about the birthday surprise in store for me?"
"Sorry can't tell you a thing. Marie's orders." He states.
"Awww." I whine.
"You just have to wait untill you get to school!"
The bus then pulls up and Harry asks me to sit with him. Usually I sit alone untill the bus pulls to Marie's stop.
"Hey can I ask you something?" Harry questions.
"Yeah of course buddy!" I say.
"Um, never mind ." He says nervously.
"Oh come on Harry you can ask me anything!" I assure him.
"No this was the wrong time to ask you, just never mind." He said quickly and quietly.
"Harry is there something wrong?" I ask concerned. He had that nervous twinkle in his bright green eyes.
"No of course not!" He reassures.
"Alrightie then..."
The rest of the bus ride we were silent. I have no idea what he was going to ask me or why he trailed off so sudden like that. It's so unlike him. I have to tell the girls. Once the bus pulled up to the school I notice Marie get off with our other guy friend Niall. They were laughing about something, which is strange since Niall only talks to the guys. I'll tell her later then. I spot Sara and Lisa standing outside the bus. So I head over to them.
"Hey girls!" I greet.
"Hey Birthday girl! Look, we can't talk to you this morning ok? Talk to you at lunch though." Sara says.
"Bye!" Lisa says.
Then they start walking away. Whatever that was... I enter the building and see a note on my locker. It said;
Dear Alexa,
Come into the janitors closet at lunch.
Signed,
Your BFFS
I wondered what surprise was that they had planned for me. They were probably just going to wait until I got there and opened the door and then they would jump out and yell "SURPRISE!!!!!" Or something.
When the time finally came I headed with my lunch to the janitors closet. As soon as I open the door all I can see is a shovel end in my face and feel it hit me. Hard. I'm knocked right off my feet and the world goes dark.
Marie's P.O.V
Okay, the plan wasn't supposed to be that severe. I should've just had her blindfolded. Plus Lisa hit her way too hard! Now we got stuck in the emergency room. It wasn't my fault...Entirely. When the doctor came out with her I was relived she didn't have to stay overnight or something, then her mom would literally kill me. She had to get stitches and the doctor said there was no charge and he winked at me. I have no idea why.
"What happened to me?" Alexa asks.
"You got hit in the head really hard and had to get stitches on the right side of your forehead." I explain.
"Did I miss the surprise?" She asks sounding panicked.
"Nope that's where I'm taking you now." I take her hand and lead her to my car.
"Where are we going? Is Harry gonna be there?!" She asks exited. Why would she wonder about Harry anyway? Must be the drugs taking affect.
"We are going to your surprise." I answer.
"One question, why is the world spinning?" She says looking drunk "Woah the stop light winked at me!"
"Oh shit you're hallucinating again." I tell her.
"No I'm completely beautiful no matter what you say Miranda!" She exclaims.
"No, my name is Marie, and you're hallucinating right now because the doctors gave you some drugs to ease the pain." I look over to see she's now asleep. Ditching school for her better be worth it.
