Chapter 1: Planes, Preston, and Perry (oh my)
"Miss.. Miss?"
I looked up at the flight attendant trying to get my attention.
"We are preparing to land, so I need you to turn off al electronic devices at this time."
Uggghhh why is life so unfair
Reluctantly, I took out my headphones that were still blasting Panic! at the Disco. Now all I could focus on was the family in front of me who had a bratty little child that bounced around in front of me and wouldn't shut her damn little yapper the whole flight.
Little background information; My name is Reyna Marshall. I live in Portland, Oregon alone with my mom. I'm going into my senior year of high school, and since money is tight I have been accepted to a study broad program in England. Of course I'm excited, but it's going to be weird without my mom, or knowing anybody. Well, I guess not anybody. One of my mom's old roomates lives there with her son, Liam. But I only met Liam once when I was like 5.. So I have never really talked to him before. But apparently he'll be there, so maybe the spark between us will.. respark? Well I mean based on facebook creepings, he isn't ugly sooo..Back to reality, I got off the plane eventually. And by eventually I mean it took like 20 minutes because the family in front of me decided to take their sweet ass time gathering their belongings. But eventually I got to the magical suitcase mover and found my 3 large suitcases. Hey, I'm going to be here a whole year, I have needs. Thankfully, my taxi driver was nice enough to help me get them into his car and drive me to Preston Academy.
I arrived at Preston Academy and man, it was crazy. There were people everywhere, finding dorms, classes, old firends, new friends. And then there was me, the awkward american girl with 3 large suitcases and a Perry the Platypus pillow pet at my side. Perry, you are my only friend. You also are the bulk of the reason I look like an idiot. I decided I should probably find out where to go and who I'm rooming with.
After 2 trips to the bathroom, falling down in pubic, and getting lost, I was still lost. I didn't know where I was going or who to ask or what to WAIT cute guy, act natural. WAIT now hes walking up to me OMGOMGOMG.
"You're lookin' a little lost aren'tcha?" said this cute mystery boy with blonde hair.
"Uhh.. Yeah.. I don't know where to go for my room and boarding stuff."
"Well well well, you're not from around here. What is that yer holdin' in yer hand? Is it a.. dog... beaver... duck?" he asked as he pointed at Perry.
"Oh, no! It's a platypus actually." I stated more awkwradly. I just need to know where to go... Come on cute boy help me out.."Strange place, America. Well if you walk down this path and take te next left, you'll be at Berkley Hall, you can get your information there." THANK YOU"Thank you so much! Uhh.." I started to say realizing I didn't know his name.
"My name is Niall, and yours?"
"Reyna. Reyna Marshall."
"Well it was good to meetcha Reyna. Hopefully I'll see you around!" He turned away and gave me a little wink.
After all that, I couldn't help but think that it might not be so bad here.
