Love Will Tell Us Where To Go

“Dude, that really sucks.”

“Thank you Niall, for you’re amazing insight into this situation.” Louis replies with his usual sarcastic tone.

I feel better already after just telling the guys about what’s going on; even if we are just talking via Skype and not in person. Niall, Liam, and Zayn are over at Louis’ house. They already knew about Megan, so I didn’t have to tell them much.

“Come on Louis, don’t be so hard on Niall. What kind of advice would you expect from the only one of us who is single?” Liam says as he playfully hits Niall’s arm.

“Shut up.” he replies with a laugh. “And since you’re all apparently experts on relationships, why don’t you give him some brilliant advice?”

Liam begins to reply to Niall’s comment, but I can’t hear him over Louis and Zayn who are now having their own conversation.

“Guys.” I say but am either not heard or am being ignored. “Hey…guys!” Still no response.

“HELLO!” I say louder. They all stop talking at once and look at me.

Then we all burst out into laughter.

“Now, if someone has any legit advice, I would love to hear it. One person at a time.” I say.

“You know she still loves you, right?” Louis states matter-of-factly. I have to stop and think a minute. I really don’t know. I’ve been so caught up with the crushing feeling of losing her and possibly never getting her back, I never thought of it exactly like that.

“Yeah…I mean, I guess a part of me wondered if she decided she doesn’t like me enough to keep our relationship going but-“

“Look, I could be wrong, but based on what you’ve told us, there’s no way that girl is over you.” Zayn adds.

I look down a moment and begin playing with her pajama jacket that I got out of the bag of clothes she left here. “But what do I do?”

“Well, if you really think you love her,” I look up at Niall who is talking. “and I think you do…then you should just go for it. Tell her how you feel.”

“Maybe I should wait a while.” I say as I feel a stab in my stomach. I hate the thought of waiting. So many things can change in a short period of time.

“You might be right, Harry.” Liam adds. “Giving her some space and letting her realize how much she needs you might be better.”

“Maybe she’ll even give in and talk to you first.” Niall says.

“Not to make things worse, but…what about when she does leave? Do you think you can handle such a long distance relationship?” Niall asks cautiously.

“Great job, way to help the mood.” Zayn says. But honestly, I don’t mind that he said that. That thought has been on my mind since Megan and I got together. Hearing him say it now doesn’t effect me.

“It’s fine, Niall. I just…I know I love her enough to, but-“

“Awww.” they all say at once. I roll my eyes before continuing. “there has to be another way. Maybe she could…not go? I don’t know. I just want us to be together again. We can deal with that later.”

“Look guys, our little Harry is all grown up and in love. Where does the time go?” Louis says while wiping away an imaginary tear.

“Lou, I’m seventeen and you’re nineteen. I’m not that much younger than you.” I say with a laugh.

“You just couldn’t let me have my moment, could you, Haz?”

We all laugh, and in that moment, I realize this is the best I’ve felt in weeks. I wish I lived closer to them so we could hang out in person more often.

“You know what we should do that we haven’t done in a while?” Liam asks. He answers before we even have a chance to ask. “Let’s write a song!”

I feel a bit hesitant, but I decide to not argue since I’m in a much better mood. I grab my notebook of songs and a guitar while the rest of the guys get there stuff. We end up Skyping for several more hours.
