Julia’s POV:
“Niall I need to tell you something…” I finally looked up at him, feeling my eyes begin to water. His face instant showed concern, as he frowned.

“Jules…what’s the matter…” He studied me carefully, as the first tear rolled down my cheek.

“I’m sorry…” I began. I choked on the words, finding it almost impossible to say. I was letting him down once again.

“Jules…we’ve already been over this. It’s fine…we’ve moved on past the situation.” He gave me a reassuring smile. I shook my head.

“That’s not what I’m talking about.” I spoke after he reminded me of the second horrible thing I’ve ever done in my life.

“Then what is it?” He asked nervously, his voice shaky.

“Mooooooommy!” I hear Lexi call from her room. I sighed, knowing that I almost told him…almost. I got up, with Niall following behind me. We walked into her room, seeing her on her side, with a tired look.

“Why aren’t you asleep?” I asked, sitting on her bed, kissing her forehead.

“You feel a little better?” Niall asked, standing up next to me. She nodded her head.

“Niall can you sing to me?” She whined. He let out a small chuckle, nodding his head. Soon enough, he began singing.

Before he could even finish the song, Lexi’s eyes were already closed and she drifted off to sleep. I smiled, and leaned down to give her a small kiss. I stood up and Niall and I made our way back to the living room sitting in our previous seats.

“Thank you.” I said, referring to singing Lexi asleep. His voice was as beautiful as I remembered.

“Of course. I’d do anything for her.” He gave me a polite smile, and glanced away for a second, then returning his eyes back to mine. “So there was something you wanted to tell me?”

“Oh…uh…y-yeah…”

“Okay, what is it?” His voice was still a little shaky. I sighed. How do I even tell him this? I lied to him about his own daughter…

“I um…I-I—“ I stuttered, my hands now shaking a little.

“Julia please, just tell me.” He begged. I could tell he was as worried as I was.

“I um…just wanted to say how good you are with Lexi. And to thank you for letting her stay the night last night.” I cracked a forced smile, as confusion covers his face. I know, I’m a wimp.

“Oh…well you’re welcome.” I could tell he didn’t really buy the story, but he just went along with it. “I-I should get going…” He said, before standing up. I nodded, walking him to the door.

“Thanks…again….” I said, leaning against the door frame. He nodded his head giving me a small smile.

“Anytime.” He winked and made his way to his car before I closed the front door. I stood there for a moment and sighed. What have I gotten myself into? I’m the worst person ever! I was about to tell him, but I chickened out. Liam is going to kill me.

Niall’s POV:
“Hey, where have you been? Where’s Lexi?” Louis asked as I walked into the hotel room.

“She wasn’t feeling well, so I took her home.” I shrugged sitting next to him and Harry on the couch. They were playing some video game…figures.

“Poor thing.” Harry says, frowning.

“Yeah, but while I was there, Jules seemed a bit uneasy.” I say tilting my head to the side trying to think of what she was going to say.

“Uneasy…how?” Liam piped up.

“I don’t know…as if there was something she wanted to say.” I shrugged.

Liam’s POV:
“Uneasy…how?” Just by what Niall was telling us, I knew she didn’t tell him still.

“I don’t know…as if there was something she wanted to say.” Niall shrugged.

“Maybe she wanted to tell you that you’re Lexi’s father.” Zayn joked, nudging Louis. The two of them still didn’t know, and I know for a fact I was not going to be the one to tell them. Harry and I had a quiet conversation in the studio, and told me that Jules told him that I knew. We were the only ones who knew, except for probably Christa and Matt.

“No, I already asked her that the other day at lunch. She said no. I basically embarrassed myself, asking…” He said, looking down and sighing.

“Well it didn’t hurt to ask, mate. I mean what if she was yours?” Louis said, pausing the game. I couldn’t handle being in the same room, the guilt crawling over me.

“I’m going to go get some air. The room is a bit stuffy.” I lied, making my way to the door.

“Yeah me too.” Harry said, knowing why I left the room.

“What’s up with them?” I heard Louis say before we shut the door.

“Liam, I can’t stand lying to them anymore. We need to get Jules to tell him.” Harry told me as we entered the elevator.

“You think you’re the only one? The fact that Niall and Lexi already have a connection but he doesn’t know she’s his daughter kills me.” I sighed running my fingers through my hair.

“Should we go talk to Jules?” He asked, with me nodding my head.

“That’s exactly what we’re doing.” I told him as the elevator doors opened and we walked out into the lobby.

Julia’s POV:
“Niall I’m so sorry…please forgive me! I love you so much!” Tears filled my eyes as I tried to keep him from leaving.

“No! I can’t believe you did this to me! I hate you!” He said with such disgust in his voice.

“Niall wait! Please, Lexi needs you!” I tried grabbing his wrist but he yanked it away.

“Go find someone else to take care of her. She was a mistake anyways.”

I heard the doorbell ring, waking me from my nightmare. I was thankful for that. This was one of the reasons I didn’t want to tell him…what if he didn’t even want her? I got up from the couch and walked over to the door, opening it. Behind the door stood Liam and Harry, and I already knew what they were going to say. Before I could shut the door, Liam stuck his foot out and stopped it. I sighed, letting them in.

“So…how’d it go telling Niall?” Harry asked, even though he already knew the answer.

“It didn’t.” I say glaring at him.

“Why not?” Liam asked, disappointment in his tone.

“I was scared! I don’t know how to tell him!” I said, my voice getting a little louder.

“Well you need to figure out a way! This isn’t fair to him or any of them, really. Even us. We feel so guilty not telling him.” Harry said, flipping his curls out of his face. I sighed and looked down.

“You guys don’t understand! You’re not in the position I’m in! It isn’t that easy, okay!? It’s not like he’ll even be around all the time! That isn’t fair to Lexi, is it? You guys only came back into my life a few days ago and you’re rushing me to do something so important! It takes time, you know! It’s even harder because it’s not like we’re in a relationship!” I finally got everything I needed off my chest. I was sick of being rushed to do this. I’ve only seen Niall a few days and here they are telling me what to do. I’m an adult too, and I’m pretty sure I know how to run my life.
