Loved You First (Sequel to Simon's Daughter)

Chapter 13

Julia’s POV:
“Jules got jealous! Jules got jealous!” Liam sang and pointed at me. I elbowed him in the side, making him wince in pain.

“Shutup.” I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms. Liam and I were walking along in the park just chatting like friends do (outfit). I told him what happened when Niall was late picking up Lexi and how I’d gotten a bit jealous…

“I don’t see why you just don’t tell him.” He shrugged his shoulders, sliding his hands into his pockets.

“Liam, don’t you see? He’s into Demi. Besides, these feelings will go away anyways. It’s probably just because I’ve seen him a lot lately after a while.” I looked down, kicking a rock along the path with my foot.

“Excuses, excuses, excuses…” Liam sighed and shook his head. I scoffed and shook my head.

“You don’t get it.” I muttered under my breath, but he heard it anyways.

“What don’t I get then? Hm? Tell me.” He stopped, as did I, and he lead me over to a bench so we could sit.

“I-I-I don’t know! This is all just so confusing for me.” I sighed, leaning my head onto his shoulder.

“Well we’ve got to talk about it soon. You can’t just run away from this.” Liam said, patting my head awkwardly, as he chuckled.

“Hmm, I can for now. So….let’s go get some food!” I said happily, raising my head from his shoulder.

“Jules, we should talk about this.” Liam tried reasoning with me.

“We did! Now about that food…” I looked around to see if there were any close by restaurants or vendors around the park.

“That’s not what I-“ I cut Liam off pointing to something.

“Look! I see a pizza place!” I grabbed his wrist, and dragged him behind me, as we made our way across the street.

“C’mon LiLi, you know you want some.” I said pointing to all the stuff on the menu once we got inside.

“Did you seriously just call me LiLi?” He said it with such disgust in his voice, causing me to let out a laugh.

“Yes, yes I did. Now if you don’t cheer up, I’ll keep calling you that.” I smiled proudly and watched as he rolled his eyes. He sighed, and put on a fake/forced smile on for me. “YAY!” I cheered quickly taking my phone out and snapping a pick before he could protest.

“Hey!” He frowned, as I started tapping away on my phone.

Soon enough I heard his phone ding! and he took it out of his pocket to check his new twitter notification. From me.

“Ha ha so funny.” He said sarcastically.

“By the way, you’re buying me ice cream after this.” I said, once we got up to the counter when it was finally our turn to order.

“Fine. But only because I love you.” He rolled his eyes and sighed. I gave him a quick hug, and turned to the cashier, giving her our order.

“One extra large cheese pizza, please!” I said with a big smile. The cashier just looked at me with a weird look before tapping the order in.

“That’ll be thirteen ninety-nine.” She said bluntly. I dug into my pockets taking out a twenty dollar bill, and handed it to her. She took it from me and gave me the change back.

“Thank you.” I said, but she just stared at me. I furrowed my eyebrows and walked over to a table with Liam.

“Extra large?” Liam questioned me, as he let out a small chuckle. I stuck my tongue out at him, failing at hiding my smile.

“I’m hungry, okay?” Scoffing, I pulled out my phone and opened up twitter. The first thing I saw on my home page was a tweet from Niall.

@NiallOffcial: Awesome day with an awesome person! pic.twitter.xUmN0x’

My happy, smiling, self soon changed as my smile dropped and I lowered my head a little. I’m guessing Liam noticed, because he spoke up.

“Jules? What’s wrong?” He asked, trying to see my face, but I kept it lowered. I didn’t want to ruin his day and make everything about me.

“N-Nothing. I’m fine.” I shrugged my shoulders, but soon enough I felt my phone being snatched out of my hands. “Liam!” I said trying to get it back, but he kept it away from me. He looked at the screen, seeing Niall’s tweet along with the picture. I saw his face change too, as he saw it.

“Jules. He’s just-“

“One extra large cheese pizza?” I heard over the intercom, and I quickly stood up and walked to the counter. I heard Liam’s footsteps behind me following along. The lady at the counter handed me the box of pizza, and I smiled as a ‘thank you’ to her.

“So where should we eat this delicious pizza?” I said, trying to distract myself from ‘Nemi’.

“We could go back to the hotel…?” He suggested, shrugging his shoulders. Just in case Niall was already there, I didn’t want to see him, so I thought of something better.

“Well I actually have a better idea.” I smirked.

-

“Simon’s house?” Liam asked once I pulled into the driveway. I nodded my head.

“Yeah, he won’t mind, I promise.” I shrugged my shoulders, holding the pizza in my hand. I swear I was probably drooling by the sight of the pizza. I’m a freak. Using the key my dad gave me, I unlocked the door and stepped inside, with Liam following after me.

“Are you sure? Everything looks so…breakable.” Liam pointed at a few vases and other ‘breakable’ things. I laughed and lead him into the kitchen.

“Let loose a little, Payne.” I rolled my eyes, setting the pizza box down on the counter and opening it. My eyes widened at the beautiful sight of it.

“It looks like you haven’t eaten in days.” Liam chuckled snapping a picture of me.

“Hey!” I frowned and folded my arms.

“Payback.” He shrugged his shoulders. I scoffed, and took a slice of pizza. I took a huge bit out of it, and groaned.

“UGH THIS IS SO FUCKING GOOD.” I yelled, taking another bite out of the slice. Liam looked at me weirdly before slowly taking a slice. His eyes widened once he swallowed it and he looked at me in shock.

“YOU’RE RIGHT.” He said, eating more. I laughed at him grabbed another slice once I finished.

“Ha, not so weird now, am I?” I teased, scarfing down my second piece. I heard the doorbell ring before I could pick up another slice. I looked at Liam confused, but I went to answer the door anyways. When I opened it, I was greeted by four boys and…a girl.

“THE PARTY HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED!” Louis threw his hands in the air and fist pumped. I laughed, and so did the rest of them.

“Sorry no visitors.” I said, shutting the door and walking away. I saw Liam roll his eyes, as he went to the door and opened it up again. I just sat down at the table and continued eating the pizza.

“Somebody’s grumpy today.” Louis scoffed as he walked into the kitchen where I was.

“I was happy until you came.” I teased, but I gave him a hug, and he spun me around. I laughed lightly and then saw the other boys come in.

“HARRY!” I yelled running up and jumping on him. He chuckled, wrapping his arms around me in a hug. When he set me down, I turned to see Zayn standing there with a sad face.

“No hug for me?” He pretended to fake cry, but I hugged him tightly, earning a hug back in response. When I finished hugging Zayn, I was faced with Niall. And Demi.

“Hey, Jules. This is Demi.” Niall smiled at Demi, locking their hands together. She stuck out her free hand for me to shake. I hesitated before shaking it, forcing a smile out.

“It’s so strange that I work with Simon, yet I haven’t met you until now!” Demi let out a small laugh, and I let out a fake one.

“Yep, the strangest.” I said unenthusiastically. I let go of her hand and just stood there.

“So…” Liam broke up the awkward tension in the room by trying to change the subject. “We should do something.”

“Oh, I am doing something.” I smiled at him, and sat back down by the pizza box. HEAVEN IN A SLICE OF FOOD.

“I meant something fun.” He scoffed at me, but I shrugged my shoulders.

“Eating pizza is fun!” I said quickly, defending my love for pizza.

“You can eat more pizza after we do something.” Louis took the box away from me, and I panicked. So I bit his arm.

“Did you just bite him!?” Harry asked, trying to hold back a small laugh.

“She just bit me!” Louis set the pizza back down, and rubbed over the bite-mark. I was hungry, okay?

“I don’t mess around when it comes to my pizza.” I glared at Louis, and grabbed another slice.

“Wow, it must be really good then.” Zayn reached for a piece, and I slapped his hand away.

“OW!” He exclaimed, stepping away from me.

“Only Liam and I can eat it, since he came with me.” I said pointing at Liam, who also looked shocked at my behavior.

“God damn, woman! If only you ate like that three years ago.” Niall said, raising his eyebrows and letting out a small chuckle. I stopped eating, and froze. The room quickly became silent. I glanced at Niall, and then quickly ran out of the kitchen and up the stairs to one of the rooms.

Niall’s POV:
“God damn, woman! If only you ate like that three years ago.” I raised my eyebrows and laughed a little. I saw Jules set down her pizza and look at me before she left the room.

“Niall, really…?” I heard Liam say, with a look that said ‘go talk to her’. I sighed and let go of Demi’s hand.

“I’ll be right back.” I followed Julia’s path out of the kitchen and went upstairs to find her. I opened about five doors but she wasn’t in any of them. I tried to open the last door at the end of the hallway, but it was locked. I sighed, knowing she locked the door.

“Jules, open up.” I knocked on the door lightly, but she didn’t answer. “I’m sorry.”

“Go away.” I heard her say quietly, a few sniffles following after.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t know it was still a touchy subject. But we were all there for you when it happened. Why are you so upset about it?”

“Because you said it in front of someone I barely know! It’s a bit embarrassing, Niall. You wouldn’t even understand…”

“It’s not like she would make fun of you for it. She had a few ups and downs herself. Maybe you can talk to her about it. She’ll definitely understand.” I said hopefully, and the door opened. Julia faced me and scoffed.

“Are you fucking serious right now?” She raised her voice a little. “Niall, I don’t want to ‘talk to her about it’, okay? I DON’T KNOW HER. SHE DOESN’T KNOW ME. I DON’T WANT HER TO KNOW ME. I DON’T GIVE A FUCK IF SHE UNDERSTANDS OR NOT. SHE’S NOT ME. AND I’M NOT HER.” She glared at me and shook her head.

“Jules, I’m sorry…I just thought maybe-“

“Save it. Just go.” She looked down at the ground, and pulled a strand of hair out of her face. I hesitantly turned around, and walked back downstairs to where the boys were.

“We should leave…” I said quietly to everyone. They slowly followed me to the front door, and I held Demi’s hand once again.

There was something else that was bothering Jules, but she would never tell me.

Never in my wildest dreams.

Notes
