Loved You First (Sequel to Simon's Daughter)

Chapter 12

Niall’s POV:
I sat up stretching after I finally woke up. I looked over to the clock which read: 10:13. Wow, I definitely slept in.

“Morning, Lex.” I looked over to find the space next to me empty. I quickly got up and nervously looked around the hotel room. She was nowhere to be found. I left my room and went straight across the hallway to Liam’s room. I knocked loudly and swiftly, scared because my daughter was missing.

“Well hello there, sleepyhead.” Liam greeted and to my surprise I heard the familiar laughter of Lexi. I walked past Liam into his room to see Lexi being tickled by the rest of the boys.

“Lexi you scared me half to death!” I sighed a sigh of relief and the boys looked up and stopped tickling her.

“We were just tickling her…” Louis said confused. I shook my head and rolled my head.

“That’s not what I’m talking about. You left without telling me or anything, I had no idea where you were.” I said looking Lexi in the eyes.

“Wait, I thought you told me that you told him you were in here?” Liam said, raising an eyebrow.

“I did. But he didn’t say anything. So I came here.” Lexi smiled causing the room to erupt into laughter except for me.

“Lexi, I was asleep, honey. I didn’t hear you.” I tried holding back a smile, but she was too cute and my lips curled into a smile.

“Sorry, daddy.” She giggled and gave me a hug, which I gladly accepted.

“It’s alright. I forgive you.” I chuckled lightly and she let go, running over to sit on Louis’s lap.

“Alright, who wants to get some food!?” Louis shouted and everyone stood up and quickly made their way to the door.
**
After eating we all decided to walk around LA and enjoy the weather. I held Lexi’s hand as me, Lexi, and Liam walked down the street. Louis, Zayn, and Harry went somewhere else and we just decided to meet them back at the hotel.

“Daddy, where are we going?” Lexi asked, swinging our hands back and forth.

“I don’t really know.” I shrugged my shoulders and saw Liam stop in his tracks. “What is it, mate?” I watched as he slowly pointed towards something off in the distance.

“Oh shit...” He said. I looked at where he was pointing to see a big crowd of people, and as it got closer I could hear the loud, high-pitched screams. How the hell did they find us!?

“Uh…quick come in here.” I picked Lexi up and told her to put her head down. She nuzzled her head into my neck, and Liam quickly followed me into the nearest store. We just happened to be in a frozen yogurt shop. Liam went up to the counter and asked the employees for help and they locked the doors so nobody could get in.

“How did they even find us?” Liam asked a bit annoyed. We sat at a table and I quickly dialed up Paul’s number

“I don’t know.” I sighed.

“Daddy I want some fwozen yogurt!” I heard Lexi say while I was calling Paul.

“Not now, we have to leave.” I said, right before Paul picked up the phone. “I’m with Liam and Lexi, and we’re trapped in downtown LA.”

“DADDY!” Lexi yelled and kicked me under the table.

“Alexis, I said not now!” Covering the phone with my hand so Paul didn’t hear. I uncovered it and heard Paul replying back to me.

“I HATE YOU!” Lexi yelled and began to cry. I sighed and rolled my eyes, continuing to listen to Paul.

“Okay, bye.” I said before hanging up the phone. I heard Lexi’s hurtful words, but tried my best to ignore them. I don’t think she meant it…I hope not…

“Lexi, you don’t talk to your father that way. Apologize now.” Liam said sternly, but she just sat there with her arms crossed and looked down.

“Paul said he’d be here soon.” I said, quietly looking down at my phone. I tried to distract myself by just going on twitter or doing something. But no matter what I did, her words were engraved in my head. I hate you.

“You okay?” Liam asked, but I just nodded my head, hiding my actual feelings.

“Yeah, never better.” I forced a smile at him, and looked back at my phone. I quickly looked up at Lexi, and saw she was looking right back at me. I just looked at her for a moment before looking back down. Did she really mean what she said?

“Hey, look, Paul’s here.” Liam said, making me turn around, seeing all the screaming girls outside of the shop and then Paul who was wearing black and he motioned for us to come out. I stood up and walked to the door as Liam picked up Lexi. Paul opened the door for us as two more of our security guards helped us make our way out of the shop. Not only were there fans, but also paparazzi.

Liam, do you and Danielle have a daughter?”
“Or is it Niall’s child?”
“Is it Dani and Liam’s child, or Niall’s child?”
“How old is she?”
“What’s her name?”

“Keep your head down.” I heard Liam say to Lexi over the screams of girls, and questions from paparazzi. I felt bad for Liam. Now he’s been dragged into this and now people will think Liam has a child. I’m glad they didn’t ask if it was also Julia’s child. Our relationship was pretty exclusive so nobody really connected that. But Liam was in some deep trouble, and it’s all my fault.

“I’m sorry.” I said to Liam when we finally managed to get in the car. He looked at me confused.

“For what?” He said with a slight chuckle.

“Now everyone thinks you and Dani have a daughter. And I didn’t say anything…” I sighed.

“Niall, don’t worry about it. I’m pretty used to rumors by now. It’s not your fault, Jules doesn’t want anyone to know. Besides that would just create more drama for you. Trust me, everything is okay.” He smiled and gave me a pat on the back. Lexi was quiet the rest of the ride and barely even moved. I didn’t know what was up with her lately. She was never like this with me before. Did I do something wrong?

“Daddy…” I heard Lexi say quietly when we got back into the hotel room. I was sitting at the desk on my laptop while she played on the floor with some of her toys.

“Hm?” I asked, not taking my eyes off of the screen. There was no response for a moment, so I looked over at Lexi to see her face covered by her hands. I frowned and went over to her, picking her up and setting her down on the bed, as I sat next to her. “What’s the matter, babe?” I asked, rubbing her back in circles.

“I’m a bad person.” She mumbled, and I saw a few tears roll down her cheeks.

“No you’re not, princess. You’re the sweetest girl I know.” I kissed the top of her head, and she uncovered her face to look up at me.

“But I was being mean to you.” I wiped away some of her tears, and saw her red and puffy eyes.

“You were just cranky, love. It’s okay.” I sighed. I didn’t like seeing my baby girl upset. I may have missed three years of her life, but I will always care for her no matter what.

“I’m sorry, daddy.” She mumbled as she laid her head down in my lap.

“It’s okay.” I said, moving her hair out of her face.

“I love you.” She said, turning over to face me. Lexi giggled and smiled at me, and I smiled back down at her.

“I love you too.” I bent down to kiss her forehead, and was interrupted by a knock on the door. Nobody was allowed up here except for the other boys and security so I just yelled for the person to come in. To my surprise, it wasn’t any of the boys, neither the security guards.

“MOMMY!” Lexi yelled and quickly hopped off the bed and ran over to her. So much for our father-daughter moment. Jules picked her up and kissed her cheek.

“Hey, sweetheart.” She said back to her.

“Hey…” I said awkwardly, as I stood up. Jules looked over at me and gave me small smile.

“Hi. I just came to pick her up…” She trailed off, and picked up Lexi’s bag. I helped her by picking up some of Lexi’s toys off the ground and handing them to Julia. “Thanks.” She said simply. We looked at each other for a moment in an awkward silence.

“Well I’ll see you later.” I said breaking our odd eye contact.

“Yeah. Bye…” She said walking to the door.

“Bye daddy.” Lexi smiled and waved at me.

“Bye, love.” I blew a kiss to her and she pretended to catch it. I smiled, and closed the door as the two of them walked down the hallway to the elevator. But there was still one thing on my mind: Jules was going to kill me once she sees the pictures the paparazzi took of Lexi today.

Julia’s POV:
Things were now awkward with Niall. It was because of last night. When he said he was with Demi. I have no reason to be mad or anything. We’re not together anymore. Plus, it’s not like I still have feelings for him…do I?

“Mommy when can I see Uncle Matt again?” Lexi whined once we got inside the house.

“I don’t know, sweetie. Maybe tomorrow. He’s coming back tomorrow at noon.” I told her, walking to her room to set her stuff down.

“YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!” She cheered and bounced around the house. I laughed at her being all hyper over one little thing.

“Are you hungry, Lexi?” I asked her, as I held her hand, walking into the kitchen. She nodded her head, and I sat her up on the kitchen counter.

“HONEY I’M HOME!” I heard Christa joke coming in from the front door.

“Kitchen!” I called back to her. Not too long after Christa appeared in the kitchen with shopping bags in her hand.

“Hey princess!” Christa greeted Lexi, giving her a kiss on the cheek. Princess. That’s what Niall always calls her. Niall.

“Uhh, Christa? Could you finish making this for her? I have an important phone call to make.” Without giving her the chance to answer, I set everything down and ran into my room. I picked up my phone and dialed the number I knew would pick up.

“Hello?” I heard his voice on the other line.

“Liam, I think I still have feelings for Niall.”
