Chapter 24: Asking (Zayn’s P.O.V.)
I couldn’t get Sunday out of my mind. It tore me up inside to see Tori upset like that. She seemed to cheer up as we watched the movie, but I wasn’t completely convinced. I had seen how rattled she had been by that phone call.
We had left and I have been texting her every day since then. Mostly to make sure that she was doing okay, but also because I missed her. It was only Wednesday.
Speaking of Wednesday, I needed to stop spacing out and finish packing. We needed to head back today, so that we could get back to making our new album and finish out our tour. We also still had to plan our US tour. But I really wasn’t ready to head back yet.
“You ready?”
I looked over my shoulder to see Liam standing in the doorway.
“Almost,” I muttered as I turned back to my suitcase.
“What’s wrong?”
Leave it to Liam to notice that there was something on my mind. I turned to see that he was now leaning on the doorframe. I sighed as I sat down on my bed.
He raised an eyebrow, “You don’t want to leave yet.”
I nodded my head, not really knowing what to say.
“You don’t want to leave Tori.”
I looked up at him. He had his arms across his chest as he leaned there. A smile was forming on his face. I knew that look his was giving me. He knew that he was right.
“Yeah,” I sighed. I really couldn’t hide it from Liam. I mean, he had already figured it out.
“What are you going to do about it?”
I shook my head as I rested it in my hands. “I don’t know.”
“Well,” he sighed, “I hope you figure it out soon mate.”
I looked up and he was gone. I grumbled to myself as I leaned back onto my bed. This was not exactly how I had planned this day being about two weeks ago. I had imagined just packing up and leaving, but I had to get attached. I sighed to myself as I started to think about what Liam had said. Really did need to make up my mind what I was going to do about it.
I sat up on my bed and quickly finished packing my suitcase. It took me mere minutes to have all my things ready to leave.
“You ready to go?” Harry asked as he leaned on my doorframe with his hands in his pockets.
“I will be in about half an hour,” I answered as I walked passed him.
“Liam,” I started as I entered the room where the others were waiting, “I need the keys.”
A smile crossed his face as he began to dig in his pockets before speaking, “Here you go. Don’t get lost.”
“I’ll try not to,” I replied as I darted out the door.
I didn’t stopped moving until I was in the car. Then I kept moving until I was parked outside a familiar building. I was a nervous wreck and I wasn’t sure why. My thought was broke by the sound of a ringing bell. I turned and watched kids begin to file out of the building.
I pulled out my phone and sent a message as a smile crossed my face.

I watched as Tori stopped and pulled out her phone. A small smile appeared on her face before my phone went off.
That could b called stalking
I chuckled as I replied to her message.
Not if u need a ride
I could use one 2 go pick up my car
Then hop in
I watched as she searched the parking lot for a moment before she found me. She smiled as she waved at me. I waved back as she headed toward me.
“Hey,” she greeted me as she jumped in and threw her backpack in the floor by her feet.
“Hey,” I smiled as I started the car up again. “Where are we off to?”
“I’ll direct you,” she smiled back as I pulled out of the parking lot.
We drove around for a while. I wondered if Tori knew where she was going for a while, but I trusted her. We were just talking about the last few days. We laughed at some of the stupid things that we had missed out on, like when Louis slipped and fell face first into the trash can. Amber also got busted trying to make Tori laugh by putting a tack in the principal’s chair.
“Why the principal?” I asked.
She just shrugged her shoulders at me, “I guess because it would have made the biggest mess. But it was the biggest mess for Amber.”
“I bet,” I agreed.
“Well this is it,” she smiled as I followed the direction that she was pointing. I slowly pulled through the parking lot before finding a parking space.
“Thanks for the ride, Zayn,” Tori smiled at me as she grabbed her backpack.
‘Now or never buddy,’ I thought to myself as I reached over and grabbed her arm to stop her.
“Wait a minute,” I started, “I wanted to talk to you for a minute.”
Tori settled back in her seat and looked at me, “What is it?”
I could feel my heart beating a mile a minute, I was so nervous. I forced myself to calm and breathe as I took in a deep breath.
“Tori,” I started before taking another deep breath, “Will you be my girlfriend?”
She stared at me for a moment, her eyes wide. I felt my heart fall as I closed my eyes and waited for her words of rejection. But they did come. Instead, a pair of arms wrapped around my shoulders as a happy voice answered me.
“Yes, Zayn,” I could hear the smile in her voice, “I will be your girlfriend.”
I hugged her back before we both broke apart to look at each other. Smiles were plastered across our faces.
“Really?” I asked, my smile never leaving my face.
She smiled back as she nodded, “Yes, silly.”
I felt my smile widen even more if it was possible. I could feel the happiness filling me up on the inside. I couldn’t resist to complete the moment, so I leaned in and kissed her.
