Chapter 19: Brothers (Amber’s P.O.V.)
I was so aggravated when I heard what Lacy did. That bitch had no right to talk to my best friend like that. My mood lighten a little when Liam showed up at Tori’s house. I had been sitting on the couch fuming over the whole thing as Tori and Zayn talked on the other couch in the room.
“Where did you go?” Zayn asked as he closed the front door.
He turned to us, “Back to the school.”
We all looked at him, not sure why he had gone back there. So I ask, “Why did you go back there?”
He sat down on the other end of my couch, “Someone needed to be told to learn her place and I took the honor of being the one to tell her that.”
Other eyes all widened. Liam had gone back to the school to tell Lacy off? I could hardly believe it, but it was still believable.
“What did you tell her?” I asked. I was completely intrigued now.
He smirked, “I told her that she was the one who didn’t to learn her place, not Tori. And I told her that Tori was my sister and no one messes with my family.”
“That is awesome,” I said as I held up my hand in a fist.
He knuckled bumped me, “And I called her spoiled brat.”
“Well, you got that right.” I agreed. That was the only way to truly explain who Lacy Wilson was, she was a spoiled rotten brat who didn’t know her place. I decided that Liam was now my favorite person in the world for finally telling that stuck-up blonde the truth and putting her in her place.
“I hope that helps,” Zayn said as he turned back to Tori.
She was still huddled up against Zayn’s chest, her knees pulled up to her chest. I wasn’t even sure if she had heard what Liam had said, she seemed absorbed in her own little world. She didn’t that when she had a lot on her mind.
“Tori,” I said her name. She didn’t stir. I drug out her name this time, “Tori…”
“What?” she asked as she snapped back to reality.
I sighed, “You need to come back to us. Liam has fixed the problem.”
“Really?” she asked. “How?”
We all listened as Liam explained his encounter with Lacy again. Tori’s eyes lit up a little. She stood up and moved over to Liam, giving him a hug.
“Thank you,” she whispered, “I’m glad to have a brother like you.”
I smiled at the two of them. I was glad that she had a brother like Liam too. It was something that she needed. My eyes moved over to Zayn as she moved back over and hugged him too.
“And thank you for being there too,” she told him as they hugged.
“Don’t mention it,” he replied as he hugged her back.
I watched the two as their hug lasted a little longer than her hug with Liam. I raised an eyebrow at the two of them, noticing that Liam was too. I decided not to push it and lighten up the mood in the room.
“Let’s have some fun!” I yelled as I jumped to my feet, a hand pointing to the ceiling.
They all chuckled at my stupidity. I smiled back at them as we all just looked from one another. Then we all broke out laughing. This day looked like it was going to have better ending.
