Chapter 1: Enter Covers (Niall’s P.O.V.)
We really didn’t have a lot to do today. It was our day off, but we were in the middle of nowhere. We only had our phones for entertainment that went beyond Louis’s usual pranks. I was currently stretched out on my bunk, strolling through my Twitter. It didn’t take long for me to grow bored of it. I growled as I shoved my face into my pillow. I sighed as I rolled onto my back and tried to decide what to do now.
“Come here Youtube,” I muttered as I rolled onto my stomach with my phone.
I strolled through the popular videos, stopping and watching a few. I watched a few from my recommended list, and it wasn’t long before I ran out of things to watch.
“You have got to be kidding me,” I groaned as I flopped my face into my pillow. I thought for a minute for typing something into YouTube’s search bar. One direction covers.
“Might as well,” I sighed as I waited for the results to show.
I strolled through the results, trying to find a video that seemed worth watching. Then my eyes landed on a video that had over a hundred thousand views and had just been posted yesterday. I clicked on it and waited for the video to load.
“Hey guys,” a brown haired girl spoke. “It’s me, Tori-Ly again. So for this week’s video I have decided to finally take you all up on the recommendations of doing a One Direction cover. The song I chose to do was Rock Me from their Take Me Home album. Well, I hope you like it.”
I watched the screen as the angle changed before music sounded from my phone. I wasn’t expecting much from this cover. This girl seemed nice, I wasn’t ready for the voice that came out of her.
“Do you remember summer ’09? Wanna go back there every night. Just can’t lie it was the best time of my life.”
She hit every note with just precision, but her voice sounded so soft and gentle. I was mesmerized by the sound as she continued on through the song
“Hit the pedal, heavy metal, show me you care,” she sang with her eyes closed.
And then the song was over much too soon. I pressed the replay button and listened to her again. It was just as good the second time I heard it. That was when I got up from my bunk and headed out to the find the others.
“Hey,” I called, “you guys should check this out.”
I waited as they each headed over toward me as I plopped down on the couch.
“What is it, Niall?” Liam asked as he sat down.
I looked at all of them, “I wanted you all to listen to this.”
I looked at my phone and replayed the video again. I listened as she began her opening about how people were recommending her to do a cover of one of our songs.
“Niall are you really making us listen to a cover?” Zayn asked as he leaned back in his seat and stretched.
“Just listen,” I said as the first notes of the song filled the room.
Slowly, each of their eyes widened as they listened to her voice. As the song went on, they began to nodded their heads to the beat and smile at each other. I smiled as they enjoyed the song.
“Who is that?” Harry asked as the song ended. I scrolled a little on my phone to read the username.
“Tori-Ly”, I answered, “is her username.”
“Does she have anything else?” Louis asked as he leaned over my shoulder. I clicked on her name and watched as more videos of her popped up.
We spent at least an hour sitting there and listening to her videos. She had a lot of good videos and it didn’t take long for all of us to agree on one thing. This girl had a good voice.
Harry leaned over to look at my screen. “Does she have a Twitter?”
I looked for a moment, before nodding my head. “Yeah, it’s Tori-Ly.” I began to flip my apps as I
searched for her on Twitter. After a few moments, I managed to find her.

I watched as more tweets popped up on her page. They were from the other guys and they said nearly the same thing as I did. We all sat and looked at each other, smiles on our faces.
