Wait I think this is what your question's answer would be: Melrose kidnapped Maddison, and that letter was written by Melrose. that is how Harry found out that it wasn't Maddison who wrote it, because the spelling was different than how Maddison actually spells her name. She took her to the airport to go back to LA.
