Why can't we just enjoy each other's fanfiction without turning into a big competition, we're all amazing and brilliant writers. This isn't Wattpad - It's just a little corner of the world where we can all get along and write something to show each other

"Lol" implies you think my comment was a joke when it wasn't. This whole award thing is the reason I hardly write on Wattpad. We should be building each other up, not saying "Oh this piece of work is better than the rest"

Why can’t it be about recognizing people who have worked hard and have good ideas? It’s still an exchange of information. People will find new things to read. These awards are not a bad thing if handled correctly. Do some people abuse it and go about it the wrong way? Sure. But we shouldn’t discontinue something MOST people like because a few people are rude or lack integrity.

In my experience I've never met anyone on this site who's been a jerk about winning one of the awards. Honestly when the awards are going on people typically are more apt to update, and get more involved in the website. It was a positive suggestion.

I think having the awards is a good way for everyone to put their best foot forward. Everyone likes prizes - raise your hand if you worked extra hard cleaning your room when Mom offered you ice cream after. I think they're fun and more of a celebration than a competition.
