Some Writing Advice Please?
In my opinion, I think using 1st person point of view. It might be easier for the characters to describe what they dream about. And to answer your cover question, yes a nice cover will definitely attract people.
@sugarcube.
Can I message you a short excerpt of the story, to see if I'm doing well? I haven't official posted anything though.

Aim for realism :P like don't over exaggerate or jump from point a to point b. Realism makes stuff much more interesting (in my opinion). Write what you know and incorporate quirks or things either about yourself or that you experienced. And when going for detail don't do the typical "his emerald green eyes and mop of brown curls". Think of other things that are green- his jade eyes. His grassy gaze. His sea glass orbs.
just realistic details lol that's all I can give you without a full question (which I think sugarcube has already answered for you)
@Call_Me_Godot
Thank you. But I don't think I'll have a issue with the whole emerald eyes thing, I'm sure I'll put it all, if not most of it, in Harry's POV.
Can you read a little piece of it for me? If you want to, i'll message you.

I agree with using 1st person; it makes the story that somewhat more relatable and thus believable (even with the most inconvenient of settings). I've never noticed much about a cover getting attention; my attention is usually grabbed with the title of the story (the one line summary/tagline sometimes helps as well if the titles not as strong as it could be.)
The only advice I can really give you is that keep the writing true to you - as long as you like your work, other people will appreciate the effort you've put in. Realism as someone above mentioned as well works wonders; you can even tweak certain thing which would seem unrealistic in certain ways to make the concepts seem relatable.
To be completely honest with you; this site in general has a strange way of liking/appreciating any kind of writing which gets posted on it. You'll notice that terrible work with poor grammar and storyline gets thousands of views and fantastic, literary genius style work gets shunned to the side at points because readers just aren't use to it or don't appreciate it.
@ALoveSickDirectioner
Sure thing doll :D I just realise how shittily worded my advice was but I think you got the gist :P
@ALoveSickDirectioner
I say make the story in Harry's POV--the entire story. It'll make it easier, plus if it's about him seeing this person in his dreams.
@ALoveSickDirectioner I agree with @One Direction 1O1 in regards to having a story purely in Harry's POV. If you want us as readers to sympathize with him and experience what he essentially as a character is feeling, expressing, dealing with etc - it's going to make it a lot easier and a lot more interesting to have it come from his POV.
The only advice I have is to get a beta reader if you can find one. They are far and few apart but a good one will be a life saver x
@diamond. Thanks love
Check out the story and comment me some feedback pleasee??
@One Direction 1O1
I am doing it in Harry's perspective. I was going to go with that anyways. But please check out the story and I hope you like.
Hi. I'm Abby. I've been on the site for a long time, but I've just never really attempted to write anything. Can I have some tips and stuff? Just so I know I'll do a good job. Also, my story will be called "Dreamer" Its a Harry Fanfiction. Its based all on this dream Harry had one night, and I can't say too much or it will give it all away. But lets just put it at this: He can only see this person in his dreams. Literally.
So here's a few questions I would like to be answered :)
1. Which POV is better to use? 1st or 3rd? But what about in my story, there's going to be two main people who experience the same thing.. so what would do best?
2. My cover is nice, so will that attrack some people?
That's all I really know to ask, but please LEAVE SOME TIPS! if you possibly can. Thanks! :)
