The Only One for Me
5SOS
Aly's POV
Oh, God. I thought, as I hailed a taxi outside the hotel. I never mentioned it. He probably thinks I have some horrible disease now. Why do I keep messing things up? I should have just told him. It's just acid reflux, it's not like I have Gonorrhea. Maybe I'll just text him. Or should I call him? Oh, God. What do I do now? Why me?
Eventually I realized that I had practically ripped off my thumb nail I was so stressed. And that there was a cab waiting for me. Great. I hopped in and gave the cabbie the address, and was taken home.
"Aly, we need to make some rules, okay?" I groaned at my dad, so annoyed. "You can't just think that you are allowed to stay out all night at you boyfriend's place! You live in this house, and until you're able to have your own, you'll follow our rules." I was sitting in my living room, being lectured, again.
"Dad, I get it! You don't want me staying out all night. But what I don't get is why you're being so mean about this. It's not like I have a ton of time left to spend with him, they have to leave soon, and I'm going to Stanford. Harry is amazing, and I haven't had a boyfriend since Riley, and that was 2 years ago." Riley had been my boyfriend from ninth to eleventh grade, when his family moved to Connecticut for his mom's job. It had been one of the saddest things that ever happened to me, and saying goodbye to him almost killed me. His was my first; first kiss, first boyfriend, first hookup.
"I know that was hard for you, Al." My mom said empathetically, "But having a boyfriend does not mean you have the freedom to go against our rules. You're still a child."
"That's just it, Mom! I'm not a child! I turned 18 seven months ago, I'm a legal adult. You don't have the authority to order me around. I just need some space, okay?" I was getting angry now, they couldn't tell me what to do! I got up and went into the kitchen. "I'm going to get my meds and go back to Harry's place. I feel much more welcome there. But don't worry, I'll be back tonight." And I walked out the door with my keys in my hand.
I parked outside the hotel a few minutes later and thought about home. There was no way I had enough money to get my own apartment, but I couldn't stand being bossed around and having to sneak off to spend time with my boyfriend. My mind was so occupied with thoughts of this that I didn't even see the 4 boys standing on the sidewalk near my car, and bumped into one of them. I looked up to apologize and realized that I had bumped into Ashton, and the boys were 5 Seconds of Summer. My eyes widened. "Oh my god I'm so sorry!" I blurted out, my face turning beet red with embarrassment.
Ashton smiled, his dimples popping. "No problem, don't worry about it." He said, "We don't mind being bumped into by someone so hot." If it was possible, my face definitely turned even redder after that comment.
"Thanks," I said, smiling broadly, "I think..." They laughed. "I'm a big fan of you guys," I said nervously.
"So you're a directioner," Luke said.
"Oh come on!" I said, blushing. "You guys are awesome. It's not only directioners that are fans. But, related to that, have you seen Harry today? Don't worry, I'm not going to attack him, I'm his girlfriend." The words flowed out easily, but I was euphoric to say them.
"Ahhhh," Michael said, grinning cheekily. "So you're his new leading lady. Interesting..."
"You sound exactly like Perez Hilton, don't talk like that." I said, embarrassed. "And yes. So it would be great if you could tell me if he's in his room or not."
"Oh, yeah." Ashton said, "He's been in his room all morning, complaining about how you left him there after the 'amazing night you spent together'." I blushed a ton after that. "And, not a word of the 'hot' comment before. He could get mad at us." I crossed my heart.
"Not a word." I said, and as I was leaving, "Thanks, it was nice to meet you guys." They smiled, and I went inside the building to find Haz.
