"Dammit!" I called out, cursing my graduation robe. It was hot and I didn't know how I would ever be able to survive the day. It was a normal, 90 degree day in Richmond, Virginia, for everyone else. Not me. I was finally graduating from the prison that had been the place I had spent almost every second at for the past four years. I blow-dried my still dripping hair and brushed it. It was long and curly, but the most noticeable feature was that it was a bright copper color. I pulled it into a low ponytail, careful not to let the bright green streak on the bottom show through. i took a deap breath, straightened my mint green graduation dress, and went downstairs.

"You look amazing!" my Mom said as I came down the stairs.
"Thanks, mom." I said half-heartedly. "I'm going over with Alex and Connie, but you guys can leave a little later. We just need to get ready to say good-bye."
"You don't want to go with us?" My mom was a bit teary-eyed. "Are you sure?" I knew this was harder on her than on me, so I got softer.
"Yeah, mom. We just want to say good-bye to the classrooms and our lockers alone, before we have to leave."
"Alright," Mom said, "But don't get into any trouble, and before you go, you father and I wanted to give you a little something to entertain you over the summer." she said. "Alexander!" She called, and my dad came hurrying downstairs carrying an envelope.
"Alright, alright, I'm coming!" He said. He handed me the envelope. "Just a little something for you as a reward for surviving high school." He said with a smile. My mom piched him. "Ow!" he said, "Now, back to the gift. We think that you deserve it, for being the best daughter anyone could wish for, and for getting into an amazing college!" I was getting very excited and nervous at the same time about what was inside. "Go on! Open it!" Dad said. I opened the envelope. There were three pieces of paper inside, along with three plastic cards. I examined them closer and let out a shriek.
My parents had gotten my friends and me V.I.P passes and tickets to a One Direction concert!
