The Runaway ( Larry Stylinson )
Chapter 4: The Scarred
A/N: I'm sorry if this chapter sucks. I really don't know what I was trying to do.
When Louis woke up the next morning Harry wasn’t there.
“H-harry?” Louis whispered. There was no response. Louis whimpered and pulled the covers off of his body, quickly jumping out of bed. Should he stay in Harry’s room? Or try to find him. Louis stood there for twenty minutes, trembling, though it was rather warm in the bedroom.
“Harry…” Louis whined once again. He looked at the clock and noted that it was Saturday late morning. Lord, had he really slept in that late?
Louis slowly opened the door and stepped out, his bare feet pressing against the wood floor. He walked down the hall to the stop of the stairwell and unconsciously did the same routine he had learned to avoid creaking at his house. Middle on the first step, left on the second, left on the-
“Oh, hello.” Louis let out a yelp and jumped about three feet in the air, then lost his footing and tumbled down the steps, landing clumsily at the bottom.
The girl who had scared him ran down the steps to him. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. Are you okay?” Louis nodded and looked up at her. She had long brown hair and pretty, gentle eyes.
“Are you one of Harry’s friends?” he shrugged in response. She chuckled
“Of course Harry would take a liking to you.” She smiled
“W-what do you m-mean?”
“He’s always had a thing for blue eyes.” She winked and helped Louis up. “I’m Gemma by the way, Harry’s sister.” Harry rushed in the room a few moments later.
“What I with all the- shit!” Harry ran over to Louis and quickly started mothering him
“What happened? Did Gemma scare you? Are you okay boo?” Louis smiled at the fact that Harry understood people scared him easily.
“Boo?” Louis asked quietly
“Oh.” Harry blushed “Yeah. I kind of made a pet name for you.” Harry let out the cutest laugh “But if you don’t like it…”
“No!” Louis said a little too quickly “Its fine.” Harry smiled
“Have you met my sister?”
“Kinda.” He shrugged
“I accidentally scared him when he was coming down the steps. You didn’t tell me you were having someone over!”
“That’s because I didn’t know until I met him in our pool around midnight last night.”
“Our pool?”
“Yeah. He fell in.” Gemma smiled
“How long are you our guest?” Louis shrugged and looked at Harry, expecting to be rejected. Knowing he would hear Harry say “A week. Hopefully no longer.” But instead Harry said
“As long as he wants to.” Louis couldn’t stop the huge smile that appeared on his face as he hugged Harry. Harry hugged back and nuzzled his nose into Louis’ hair.
“What’s his name?” Gemma whispered, as if Louis’ wasn’t right there to hear her say it
“Louis.” Harry said softly. “C’mon Lou, I’ll make you breakfast.”
“O-okay.” Louis said and followed Harry to the kitchen.
“What would you like?”
“Eggs and toast please?”
“Of course! Gemma, could you put a couple slices of bread in the toaster?”
“Sure thing.” Gemma did as she was asked and Harry began making the eggs
“Harry’s an excellent cook.” Gemma smiled and watched Louis sit on one of the kitchen stools. He smiled fondly at Harry as he cooked and Gemma giggled to herself.
“Somebody’s got the hots for my brother…” She sing-songed very quietly. Louis gasped and shook his head quickly
“N-no!” Harry turned around.
“Are you alright, boo?” Louis blushed brightly and whispered “Yeah.”
“EGGS ARE READY!” Harry called out, causing Louis to jump. “Gee, I’m sorry Lou.” He bit his lip “didn’t mean to scare you.” Louis smiled
“No, ‘s okay.” He watched as he set the plate in front of him
Gemma and Harry watched in awe as the tiny boy practically inhaled the food.
“S-sorry.”
“No need to apologize.” Harry went to grab the plate and pecked the top of Louis’ head.
Louis blushed and watched Harry’s fit ass walk over to the kitchen sink. Louis was gay, he had known that for two years now, and it didn’t help that he was currently living with the most gorgeous boy he had ever seen. But, what Louis didn’t know was that Harry was quietly staring at him every chance he got. Like when Louis was currently talking with Gemma, Harry looked away from washing the plate and watched Louis. Everything about him, his mannerisms, the way his hair flopped to the side, and how fucking little he looked in that oversized sweatshirt, was what drove Harry crazy.
“HARRY!” Harry looked away from Louis and at Gemma who was frantically motioning at the overflowing sink. It took Harry a minute to figure out what was happening but when he did he blushed and turned the sink off, then pulled the sink plug out, feeling horribly stupid.
“Ugh, I’m sorry.” Harry had always been pestered for being slow. His mind was slow, same with his speech, which always made it awfully terrifying to read out loud in class. He was always being told he was stupid, or just too “slow-minded” to handle the subject matter in class. He looked away to hide how embarrassed he was, quickly excusing himself before running off to the loo, and crying in the corner of the bathroom.
Gemma knew how worked up Harry could get over being embarrassed, so she sent Louis to check on him. Louis was quite flustered but complied, and walked up to the bathroom.
“Harry?” He knocked on the door and listened for a minute, but just as he was about to turn around, he heard a choked sob come from the other side of the door.
Harry held his breath for as long as he could, and once he thought Louis was gone, he began sobbing again. But he gasped as the bathroom door opened, revealing a small boy peering around it.
