The Runaway ( Larry Stylinson )
Chapter 10: The Mistake
A/N: I'm back!! Did you miss me?
As soon as Louis finished packing the bags he looked out the window of the two story building. And, just as he promised, Harry was standing there.
“Throw the luggage down first!!” He shouted and Louis did as he was told.
“Come on babe. Jump!” Louis looked down and chewed on his lip “I told you I would never hurt you. And I won’t. I will catch you.”
Louis closed his eyes and jumped out of the window, completely trusting Harry to catch him.
Faith is believing what we cannot see and hoping for what we do not know.
Trust is…
Two strong arms were holding Louis safely, away from harm. “I’ve got you boo.” He gently placed Louis’ feet on the ground and grabbed his suitcase.
“WAIT!” A woman was leaning out of the window
“I’m so sorry!” Louis and Harry looked up. They both knew who the woman was, it was Gemma.
“Louis, you don’t have to leave. I will figure out a way for you two to stay here without my dad wanting to kill you!” Harry couldn’t help but chuckle. Louis raised an eyebrow at him
“What? It was kind of funny, don’t you think?”
“You are such a dork.” He turned his face to look at Gemma “Look, obviously I’m not wanted here so-“
“No! Harry loves you, and I’m not letting the boy my brother loves get away that easily.” She smiled “Come on, I’ll open up the back door for you.”
Louis and Harry walked back over to the back door with their luggage “Come on! Get inside quickly before he sees you!” Louis stepped inside and Gemma escorted them both to Harrys room
“Mum will be home soon, maybe she can cool dad down.”
“Or she’ll agree with him, saying that I am a fag.” Harry sighed, “I just want to love him, is that so wrong?” Louis blushed brightly at Harrys comment
“I know; I will fix this somehow.” Gemma stated seriously. Louis smiled,
“Thank you. I owe you.”
“Hell yeah you do.” She laughed a bit “Nah, I’m just kidding. I want to do this.”
“Why?” Harry looked at her funny
“True love. That’s why.” Gemma went downstairs promising cookies and tea later.
Louis sat on Harrys bed, enjoying the comfortable silence, until Harry spoke up
“Did you mean it?”
“Mean what?”
“That you love me. I meant it when I said it to you, but you seemed so mad when I said it, so I’m just confused as to why you said it back.” Louis pulled Harry onto the bed next to him and held his hand
“Harry, the last person who said they loved me beat me with their belt and torturously burned me with cigarettes. The emotions that were attached with those words were hurt and anger, so I was so upset. I thought you were lying to me. Just like my parents did. But then, I realized you haven’t hurt me once, you promised to protect me, and I realized I can trust you.” Harry smiled brightly and pecked Louis’ lips
“Of course you can. You always can.” Just then Harrys phone rang and he answered it
“Hello?” The voice on the other side chirped a happy ‘Hello!’ back
“Niall? Hey! What’s up?” Harry said in response
“Nothing much! I was actually wondering if you could hang out today!”
“Sure! My place? I actually have someone I want you to meet.”
“Really? Sure! I’ll be up there in fifteen.”
Harry hung up
“Who is Niall?” Louis squeaked, face pale and eyes wide
“Relax Lou, he’s really nice! He’ll love you!” Louis nodded
“O-okay.” He scooted closer to Harry who wrapped his arms around Louis and pulled him into his lap. Louis admired the way their hands fit perfectly together and how comfortable he was on Harrys lap. How loving Harrys touch felt. He loved every bit of it. The kisses that were pressed to his knuckles or the back of his neck or top of his spine, the way Harrys large, strong hands rubbed his back and arms and gripped his tiny hand, the way he made Louis feel so safe and warm and good, like nothing could ever hurt him.
And suddenly everything added up, “You’re my soul mate, Harry.”
Harry simply smiled brightly when Louis said that he was his soul mate, and then pulled the young boy closer to him. They lay there for minutes, relishing in each other’s warmth and safety. “Boo, will you be my boyfriend?” And then it was like a dozen alarms were set off in Louis’ head. He jumped off of Harrys lap, feeling like he couldn’t breathe. This was all a joke. It was a lie. This was just Harrys way of getting a good laugh.
“N-no.”
“What? Why not? Y-you said I was your soul mate no less than five minutes ago!”
“That was a mistake. This is a mistake.”
“I’m a mistake?” Louis nodded with a pained expression on this face “You’re a fucking liar, aren’t you?” Louis sneered
“Louis, I’ve never-“
“Stop being so God damn nice to me!! Hit me! Laugh at me! Make fun of me! Do something!!”
“I’m not going to-“
“Its not that fucking hard! Just bring your fist to my face and hit me!!!!”
“I will not do-“
“I’m not falling for somebody like you! No way in hell!” That comment brought tears to Harrys eyes. Somebody like him? What was that even supposed to mean?
“It means you’re a freak.” Voices echoed in his head
“You are a mistake.” They said.
And then, Harry hit him.
