The Runaway ( Larry Stylinson )

Chapter 1: The Thunderstorm

A/N: Hello lovlies!! This is the first chapter and yes, I did switch their ages up on purpose. ;) xx

Chapter 1: The Thunderstorm
Louis looked out the window from the attic at his neighbors back yard. The fence didn't seem too hard to climb from here, maybe he could fence hop all the way down to 24th street so that way no one could find him on the streets. He looked back up at the dark sky and whimpered as thunder roared. Why did there have to be a thunderstorm tonight? The night he was running away from his hell?
Louis lifted up his backpack and pushed his long fringe away from his eyes. He really needed a haircut but now wasn't the time to worry about that. He quietly crept down the stairs, thinking through the pattern of steps he had learned to avoid any creaking. Middle on the first step, left on the second, and so on.
Once he got to the door he looked back at the rest of the house and sighed, hoping he would never see this hell hole again.
He pulled at the sleeve on his left arm and turned the knob; out of the house in a flash. He rounded the corner to his neighbors fence and struggled getting over it. His feet kept slipping and he was getting frustrated. "OI!" He screeched and began crying. Partially from the headache that was forming in his right temple, but mostly from the fear that his parents might catch him. His breath hitched when he saw a light turn on in his neighbors house. He quickly climbed over, using every ounce of strength he had.
His tiny body barely allowed his toes to touch the ground on the other side of the fence. He dropped to the ground and stumbled backward, into his neighbors large pool. He screamed and splashed, knowing he wasn't that good of a swimmer. The weight from his backpack wasn't helping either, so he threw it off. He tried kicking to the surface and reaching his hand out to find the edge of the pool, but instead a hand grasped his and yanked him out of the pool, holding the tiny shivering boy to their chest.
Louis continued crying, holding onto his savior and whimpering when thunder cracked once again. " Hey, shhh..." a gentle hand rubbed his back.
Louis looked up at his savior and saw that he was a curly haired, green-eyed boy with a gentle smile.
The boy acted quickly and pulled off Louis' shirt, then replaced it with his own hoodie. Louis cuddled into the feeling of the warm sweatshirt. "So...ummmm why were you in my pool?" The boy asked, his voice low and raspy, quite the contrast to Louis rather girly voice. "I-I didn't mean to. I was backyard hopping to get away from my parents and I fell in."
"Whats your name?"
"Louis. Yours?"
"Harry. How old are you?"
"Fourteen." Harry nodded
"Okay."
"How old are you, Harry?"
"Sixteen." Louis stopped talking.
"Why are you trying to get away from your parents?"
"I have my reasons."
"Are they the right reasons?"
"Yes. Why do you care?" Louis snapped. Harry just smiled warmly.
"Because if you have the right reasons to be running away from them then I can help you."
"How?" Harry shrugged and looked up at the clouded sky before answering.
"You could stay at my house."
"W-what about your parents?" Louis asked, sudden fear in his voice.
"They're home about an hour a day betwen all the parties and work."
And that, is how Louis mde his first friend.
