(Louis's POV)
As soon as we started driving, Kayla fell asleep against the window. Her slim face rested against the sleeve of her hoodie.
We started heading west, towards Iowa during the mid day.
"Louis?" Kayla suddenly mumbled.
"Yes?" I replied, tending to her every need.
"Can we pull over somewhere, I'm hungry." She asked softly.
"Of course, I'll find somewhere." I said, searching for any restaurant signs.
Kayla sweetly smiled as she nodded her head and leaned against the window, once again falling asleep.
I drove until I found a sign that pointed to an exit saying 'Gas. Food. Sleep.'
Quickly, I turned the wheel and drove down the long narrow exit till finding a small diner. The diner was a light green color and there were large windows in the front.
"Kayla, wake up." I said softly as we pulled into the small parking lot of the diner.
Her eyes opened with confusion and her hair was knotted.
"Where are we Louis?" She asked curiously.
"A little diner I found, c'mon we're going to go have some quick lunch." I replied simply.
Gently, she nodded her head and stepped out of the truck, onto the warm pavement. Her boots shuffled along the ground as we walked into the diner and got seated.
The waitress was a tall, thin blonde with emerald eyes that kept stealing glances at me every now and then.
(Kayla's POV)
After the waitress sat us down, I kept seeing her sneaking glances at Louis every once and a while.
"So, what would you two like to start with?" She said, flipping her long blonde hair back while chewing on a pen.
"Water please." Louis said, not looking away from me.
"I'll have a coffee please." I said, glancing at her as she winked toward Louis.
Okay, I'll be back with your drinks to take your orders." She said with a smile as she winked in Louis's direction.
Quickly, she skipped away toward the kitchen, her pumps clicking with every step she took.
"Okay, she's a little too flirty." Louis said, laughing.
"Would you be mad if I told her to back off?" I asked with a straight look across my face.
"Be chill, here she is." Louis said, watching her prance towards our table, holding our drinks.
"Here you go, now what can I get you." She questioned, looking at Louis.
"Uhm, I'll have a BLT please." He said politely.
"Wow, big boy!" The waitress said giggling as she winked toward Louis.
"Wanna wink at your own boyfriend?" I snapped at her quickly.
Louis quickly smirked and held his hand over his hand over his mouth to prevent laughter.
"Excuse me?" The waitress said, holding her hand on her hip.
"You heard me!" I shouted slightly loud as everybody turned their heads toward us.
She slightly smiled and smoothed out her apron as she leaned down and whispered "Bitch, the guy on the other side of the table doesn't want you, he wants me."
"Oh really, he wants you?" I said as I stood up and walked toward Louis.
I quickly whispered "Follow along" into Louis's ear as I wrapped my leg around him and pressed my lips to his. He gently held my waist, stabilizing me against his chest as I kissed him harder.
"You sure he still wants you?" I said as I broke the kiss and looked her dead in the eye.
Her heels slammed against the hard linoleum floor as she stomped away, toward the kitchen.
"Lets get outta here." Louis said with a grin as he picked me up in his arms and headed toward the door.
