Madelynn’s POV

I was getting changed in the back room when out of nowhere I heard the boys scream “DIBS!” Uhh I can’t lets this happen. If I didn’t work for them I would be all over them like ants at a picnik but im not so this needs to change… now!

I get done getting dressed and make my way to the front of the bus. I open the curtain and see the boys just staring at me.”Did I hear you guys scream ‘Dibs’?” I asked hoping that I heard wrong but from the look of their faces I heard right. They all just got stupid smirks on their face. I need to tell them right now how things are going to be, lay down the rules.

As I’m about to sit down my phone goes off, it’s Kayla. I’m going to end this right now I answer the phone “Hey babe let me get somewhere less crowded.” and walk out. I hope that holds them off for a while.

“Okay… hey honey?” Kayla said obviously confussed.

“Sorry the boys are getting a little to comfortable with the thought of me being on the market so I had to make them think other wise.” I explained trying to make her understand.

“Oh well that doesn’t sound like such a bad thing if you ask me. Anyway I was just calling to ask where you hid the uhh… towls.” She was staying at my apartment till I got back.She had been there almost everythday since I got the place. She knew exactly where everything was. She was just curious to what was going on in my new life.

“Kayla the towls are in the bathroom in the closet where they have been for I don’t know ever? Now why did you really call me?”I asked getting annoyed with her bugging me.

“Okay well I just want to know how everything is going for you?” This time it was the truth.

“I told you its fine its just that the boys have to get use to seeing me as their assistant and not some girl they can have fun with. I have to go and actually do my job.Listen don’t call back okay i’ll call you tonight before I go to sleep.Okay, bye, love yah.”

“Okay don’t forget this time. Love you!” She said forcefully so that I knew.I heard Mia in the background. God that dog is going to stink up my place I already know it.

I decided I better go ask the boys if they needed me to get them anything from the gas station before the bus leaves. I walk on the bus and all the boys are looking at me.You know that moment when you walk into a room and it gets dead silent and you know that the conversation they were having was about you. Well yeah I just got that feeling.

“Hey do you guys want me to get you anything from the gas station?” I said trying to change the subject and get them back to acting normal.

“Yeah…” Niall said, “I’ll go with you I know what all the guys like.” He jumped up and walked past me off the bus. I took one last look at the boys who were still staring at me. I hope I didnt make things worse.

“So umm… what do they like?You know so I can remember for future times.” I said since Niall was being completely silent. He told me what everyone craves and said he would eat almost all of it. We paid for everything and started to walk towards the bus.

“So you got a boyfriend ehh?” Niall asked looking me dead in the eye. Probably trying to see if i’d lie to him. I didnt want to lie to him. He wasnt as pushy as the other boys.

I stopped and he did as I did. “Umm well no…but dont tell the others okay?It’s just that I need this job and I can’t ruin it all because I messed with one of you guys! Please don’t be mad I just cant have it.” I looked at him to see if he was mad or happy or anything but he just looked at me.

“Mads I understand. We can be a little…” He stopped,trying to find a word. “Boyish?” I asked trying to fill in his sentence.

He chuckled “Yeah that. I wont tell the guys and thanks for telling me the truth.”

“I feel like I can trust you … more than them I don’t know its sappy but…” I shrug my shoulders and we head for the bus again.

He gave me a nickname ‘Mads’. I don’t know why but that gives me butterflies.

We got on the bus and gave the guys their food. Niall and I sat next to eachother while the boys digged in.

“So Madelynn…” Zayn starts looking at his bag of chips, ” who’s this babe?” he asked still looking through his chips.

Here comes the lying… “Oh he’s a guy i’ve been seeing for about two years now… Yeah were pretty serious.” Good job I did that like a pro. I looked at Niall and he’s just grinning at me before he digged back into his candy.

“Really so whats his name?” Zayn questioned. Why did he want to know so much? It was really none of his buisness.

“Uhh…” We drove past a McDonalds so I just blurted out “Mick..ey , Mickey.” Smooth Madelynn really smooth. I need to cover that up, “Why do you wan’t to know any way?”

“Sorry if its too personal I just wanted to get to know you more. We will be spending a lot of time together.” He was looking at me now and bounced his eyebrows at the end.

Why was he so interested in who I was? I really just wanted this ride to be over so we could get to New York and I didn’t have to be interigated by him. I get up and walk to the back where Liam is playing a video game I join him. We stay back there pretty much the rest of the ride.
